Install WordPress on Medialtemplate – Guide
To Install WordPress on Media Temple is not hard but before you start your 1-click installation, you should have in mind that Media Temple’s 1-click installer may not reflect the most recent WordPress version.
Log into your Account Center, then select your primary domain and then click on the 1-click apps.
Then click on the “+NEW APP” button and hit the “+ADD” button“, in the right.
Then you will be asked to write down your URL for the application. This is the web address that users will use to access your website. It is important not to use ‘www‘ here, but only write down your site name, for example, “mysite.com“.
On the next step, you should set up your database. To do that, select the “New Database” from the drop-down menu. Then, you should give a name to your Database. The name should be unique and it will let you know which domain it is associated with.
On the database table prefix, provide a prefix that will help you to remember with which domain is your website associated with, for example, myWp_, and click the INSTALL button.
Sometimes, you might experience an error “Directory conflict, HTML folder already exists on your server..“, but do not worry. This is just a message that sometimes occurs with Media Temple’s services. Just select the Backup Content and proceed.
After you click the proceed button you will have to wait a while until your WordPress installation is completed. If you try to open your website and you are being redirected to the Media Temple website, it means that the installation process is not yet completed. Just wait a little bit more.
After you access your website you will be asked to choose a language, and enter your site title, username, password, and email. Fill these fields and make sure that you are using a different account name from “admin” as well as a very strong password including at least one special character.
Click the install button and your WordPress will be ready.
You will see a success message and you can log in.
