5 Best Server Hosting for Counter Strike 2 (CS2) Oct. 2026
Three of the cheapest CS2 server plans we priced on 1 October 2026 fall below the minimum that Valve's own server documentation lists. We also pinged all nine hosts from home connections in Europe and North America. So this guide ranks them on price, terms and measured network distance.
Quick answer: DatHost is the best CS2 server host for most groups. It charges EUR 0.99 per slot, lists 49 locations, refunds within 14 days and bills the same price every month. Want one machine for several servers? Take Hostinger Game Panel 2. Need a server for one weekend? G-Portal rents for 3 days.

Among hosts with a server in the same region, the fastest and slowest were never more than 7 ms apart in our measurement. A server on the wrong continent added more than 90 ms. That gap decides how CS2 feels, so pick the city first and the host second. Then check three things the plan cards hide: the RAM, the disk, and what the price becomes after month one.
How We Selected These Providers
We kept all five hosts from the earlier version of this page. We added four that sell dedicated CS2 servers: DatHost, ZAP-Hosting, G-Portal and Host Havoc. Each host had to sell CS2 directly, or sell a VPS that its own page markets for CS2. Each had to publish a price we could read without creating an account.
Valve's dedicated server page sets the floor we used. It lists a minimum of 2 GB of RAM and 65 GB of storage, and it says the full CS2 download is about 60 GB. Other players can only join a server that carries a Game Server Login Token (GSLT), a free key you generate on Steam. Managed game hosts install the game files for you. On a VPS, the 60 GB download and the token are your job.
We weighted five things. Location and measured latency count for 30%. Price, including the renewal price, counts for 25%. Meeting Valve's minimum counts for 20%, refund terms for 15%, and panel and plugin tools for 10%.
Our sources were each host's pricing pages, carts (read without filling in any details), terms of service and refund policies, plus Reddit threads from 2026. We didn't rent servers or run load tests. We didn't count review scores either. Most CS2 hosts sell many games, so a host-wide score says little about CS2. Prices come from the storefront our browser was served: ZAP-Hosting's Irish page, which includes 23% VAT, and G-Portal's EUR page. Visitors in other countries see local prices.

Hostinger - Best for Several CS2 Servers on One VPS
Entry: USD 9.49/mo (Game Panel 2) | Renews: USD 14.99/mo | Ping: 18.3 ms Europe, 26.7 ms North America
Say your community wants a 5v5 server, a retake server and a deathmatch server. Three managed servers mean three bills. Hostinger sells one VPS with a game panel, and you can run several CS2 instances on it. Game Panel 2 gives you 2 vCPUs, 8 GB of RAM and 100 GB of NVMe disk. It costs USD 9.49 a month on a 24-month prepay.
Skip the cheaper Game Panel 1. Its USD 6.99 buys 50 GB of disk, and Valve lists 65 GB of storage as the minimum. Hostinger's own CS2 page points small groups to Game Panel 2 anyway. The cart then shows the real term: USD 14.99 a month for the next 24 months, 1.58x the entry price. Four years cost USD 587.52, against USD 227.76 for the first two.
Compare that with Kamatera. Its cheapest server that clears Valve's minimum costs USD 12 a month for 1 core and 2 GB of RAM. Hostinger's Game Panel 2 gives four times the RAM for USD 2.51 less, as long as you prepay. Hostinger's game VPS runs in the UK, Germany, Lithuania, the US, India, Indonesia, Malaysia and Brazil. Its location page also lists France, but the Game Panel 2 cart didn't offer it.
The refund policy covers Game Panel VPS plans for 30 days, but not upgrades. Our Hostinger review found another line of the same policy excluding all VPS plans. One January 2026 Reddit thread adds a warning. A user who says they ran Hostinger game VPS plans for a year claims heavy use got throttled. It's one account and we couldn't verify it, but keep your own backups.
Pros:
- 8 GB of RAM for USD 9.49 a month, enough for several small servers
- 30-day refund on Game Panel plans
- Frankfurt server averaged 18.3 ms across our European probes
Cons:
- Renewal jumps to USD 14.99 a month after 24 months
- The USD 6.99 plan has less disk than Valve's 65 GB storage figure
- Price needs a 24-month prepay, and tax is added at checkout
Pricing: USD 227.76 up front for 24 months (USD 9.49 a month, excluding tax), then USD 14.99 a month. Weekly backups and DDoS protection are included.
Best for: groups running two to four CS2 servers who can handle a Linux VPS.
Skip if: you want one server with nothing to manage; DatHost does that from EUR 4.95.
Verdict: buy Game Panel 2 if you'll run several servers and prepay two years. For a single 10-player server, DatHost costs about the same and needs no admin work.

Kamatera - Best for Hourly Scrim and Event Servers
Entry: USD 12/mo (1 core, 2 GB, 80 GB) | Renews: USD 12/mo | Ping (TCP): 21.5 ms Europe, 23.9 ms North America
USD 4 is the number on Kamatera's ads, and it won't run CS2. That configuration has 1 GB of RAM and 20 GB of disk. To meet Valve's minimum, we built 1 core, 2 GB of RAM and 80 GB of disk in Kamatera's calculator. The price became USD 12 a month. Two cores and 4 GB with the same disk cost USD 22.
Kamatera's real strength is billing. The calculator shows USD 0.016 an hour for that 80 GB server, billed by the minute. A team that spins up a scrim server for a few evenings a month can pay hourly instead of a full month. Monthly servers are a trap here, though. Kamatera's terms say no refund is issued for the current month, and every fee is non-refundable unless stated otherwise.
There's no money-back guarantee, despite what older reviews say. Kamatera offers a 30-day free trial instead. Its terms also let it change prices "at any time", effective immediately, even on longer prepaid terms.
Kamatera announced a new data center in Bucharest in a blog post dated 8 August 2026, and Bucharest is now selectable in its calculator. Players in Romania, Bulgaria and Moldova can now rent a Kamatera server close to home instead of routing through Frankfurt.
On resources, Hostinger's Game Panel 2 gives 8 GB of RAM for USD 9.49, against 2 GB for USD 12 here. Kamatera's Frankfurt test server took 21.5 ms on average to open a TCP connection. You also install everything yourself, starting with SteamCMD and the GSLT.
Pros:
- Hourly billing by the minute, good for part-time servers
- 21 locations, including Bucharest since August 2026
- No promo price, so month two costs the same as month one
Cons:
- No refund for a monthly server once the month starts
- The advertised USD 4 server is too small for CS2
- No game panel; you set up CS2 from the command line
Pricing: USD 12 a month or USD 0.016 an hour for 1 core, 2 GB RAM and 80 GB disk. Extra storage costs USD 0.05 per GB a month.
Best for: teams that need a server a few nights a month and can run Linux.
Skip if: you want a panel and one-click plugins; ZAP-Hosting starts at USD 5.84 for 10 slots with both.
Verdict: buy Kamatera for hourly event servers and Eastern European locations. For a server that stays online all month, Hostinger's Game Panel 2 gives more RAM for less.

Host-Unlimited.de - Best for German Players Who Prepay
Entry: EUR 7.99 per 30 days (4 slots, with ad) | Renews: same price | Ping: 20.1 ms Europe, 120.6 ms North America (location not stated)
The advertised price puts Host-Unlimited's ad in your server name. Its CS2 page shows 4 slots for EUR 7.99 per 30 days. Open the cart, and the price reads EUR 8.99. That's because the option "Ohne Werbung im Servernamen" (without advertising in the server name) comes preselected at EUR 1.00 a month. To get EUR 7.99, you switch to "Mit Werbung", which adds "Powered by Host-Unlimited.de" to your server name.
Once you know that, the deal is clear. Prices include VAT, the server runs on 10 GB of RAM at the Budget level, and every plan gets 150 GB of NVMe storage. Billing is prepaid with no auto-renewal. You pay for 30 to 720 days, with discounts from 2% to 20%, and an unpaid server is simply deleted. The cart shows two data centers, Frankfurt and Wolfsburg.
The page and the cart disagree on one more price. The page says Premium Hosting is a EUR 3 monthly supplement. The cart charges EUR 5 for it, which matches the gap between the EUR 8.99 and EUR 13.99 cards.
On price, DatHost undercuts it. DatHost's 5 slots cost EUR 4.95 a month with no ad, while Host-Unlimited charges EUR 8.99 for 4 ad-free slots. On distance, our probes reached its test server in 20.1 ms on average. Host-Unlimited doesn't say which of its two data centers that server sits in. From North America the same server took 120.6 ms, so it's a Europe-only pick.
There's no money-back guarantee. You get the EU's 14-day withdrawal right, but its terms say that right expires once the service is fully delivered with your consent. Our Host-Unlimited.de review also found its terms set availability at 99.25% a year.
Pros:
- Prepaid with no auto-renewal and no surprise charges
- 10 GB RAM and 150 GB NVMe on the Budget level
- Up to 20% off for a 720-day prepay
Cons:
- Ad-free costs EUR 1.00 extra, preselected in the cart
- No North American location
- No money-back guarantee
Pricing: EUR 8.99 per 30 days for 4 slots without the ad, EUR 13.99 for 10 Premium slots, all incl. VAT.
Best for: German players who want prepaid billing and no subscription.
Skip if: anyone in your group plays from North America; G-Portal's New York server averaged 23.3 ms there.
Verdict: buy it if you want prepaid German hosting and accept the EUR 1.00 ad-free add-on. Everyone else gets more for less at DatHost.

Apex Hosting - Best for First-Time Admins Who Want Guides
Entry: USD 2.99 first month (1 GB) | Renews: USD 3.99/mo | Ping: 15.6 ms Europe, 23.7 ms North America
Apex labels its 1 GB plan "Minimum for Counter-Strike: 2". Valve's dedicated server page lists 2 GB as the minimum. So the cheapest CS2 plan on this list has half the RAM Valve asks for.
The pricing has a second layer. USD 2.99 applies to the first month only, through the first-order code APEX25. The cart then lists USD 3.99 a month, which is 1.33x the first month. Quarterly billing costs USD 10.77. The next step up is 5 GB at USD 18.75 a month after the first month.
Where Apex does well is network reach. Its Frankfurt server averaged 15.6 ms across our European probes, against 18.3 ms for Hostinger's Frankfurt server. Its New York server averaged 23.7 ms in North America, 0.4 ms behind G-Portal's. The cart offers 14 cities, from Vint Hill in Virginia to Mumbai and Tel Aviv. Apex also publishes CS2 guides for installing MetaMod and CounterStrikeSharp, the plugin frameworks most community servers use.
Two terms deserve a look before you pay. Refunds run 7 days from server creation, and Apex says you need "probable cause". Ownership is also less simple than the About page suggests. That page calls Apex "an American-owned company", while Apex's own blog announced that Nitrado acquired it. Our Apex Hosting review covers how the first-month discount plays out on its larger plans.
Pros:
- Lowest European result among confirmed locations, 15.6 ms
- 14 locations across five continents
- Step-by-step CS2 plugin guides
Cons:
- 1 GB entry plan is below Valve's 2 GB minimum
- First-month discount only; recurring price is 1.33x
- 7-day refund window requires a reason
Pricing: USD 3.99 a month for 1 GB after a USD 2.99 first month. Plan on 5 GB at USD 18.75 a month for a busy server.
Best for: new admins who want a panel, guides and a server in North America.
Skip if: you want 2 GB or more for under USD 6; ZAP-Hosting includes 2 GB with 10 slots for USD 5.84.
Verdict: buy Apex for its locations and guides, but not the 1 GB plan. If you need more RAM on a budget, ZAP-Hosting gives more per dollar.
5. GameServers

GameServers - Best for Public Servers Billed per Slot
Entry: USD 9.95/mo (10 private slots) | Renews: USD 9.95/mo | Ping: 15.9 ms Europe (location not stated), North America not measured
GameServers prices CS2 by the player slot, much like DatHost, but in US dollars and with a split. A private server costs USD 0.99 a slot, so 10 players cost USD 9.95 a month. A public server costs USD 1.29 a slot, or USD 12.95 for 10. At 32 public slots, the bill reaches USD 41.55.
The CS2 page still shows its age. Its web address ends in "csgo-128-tickrate", the title says "Buy CSGO Server Hosting", and it asks for "a valid copy of CSGO". It lists 19 cities, including St. Louis, Warsaw and Johannesburg, which few rivals cover.
The refund promise needs checking. GameServers' games page advertises a "5-Day Money-Back Guarantee". Its terms, last modified on 4 November 2021, say it "will not issue You any refund whatsoever" if you cancel before a prepaid term ends. The terms also renew your plan automatically for the same length. Before you pay, ask support in writing which rule applies to you.
Its networks sit inside The Constant Company's address space. Our European probes reached a GameServers address in 15.9 ms on average, but GameServers doesn't state where that address sits. No address in its New Jersey ranges answered pings, so we have no North American figure.
Pros:
- Private servers at USD 0.99 a slot
- 19 cities, including St. Louis and Johannesburg
- Moves your server to another city from the control panel
Cons:
- Refund promise contradicts its terms
- Public slots cost 30% more than private ones
- CS2 page still written for CS:GO
Pricing: USD 9.95 a month for 10 private slots, USD 12.95 for 10 public slots, renewing automatically at the same price.
Best for: public community servers in less common US cities.
Skip if: you want a clear refund; DatHost's 14-day refund is written into its terms.
Verdict: buy GameServers for a public server in a city others skip. If refund terms matter to you, DatHost charges EUR 9.90 for 10 slots and puts its refund in writing.
DatHost - Best for Most Groups, Scrims and Practice
Entry: EUR 4.95/mo (5 slots) | Renews: EUR 4.95/mo | Ping: 17.3 ms Europe, 29.5 ms North America
DatHost builds its whole product around Counter-Strike, and it shows. Its CS2 page lists 49 locations, from Dublin and Sofia to Bogotá and Auckland. It lets you move a running server to another city at any time. That matters for a team that scrims against European and North American opponents in the same week.
Pricing is the simplest here. Each slot costs EUR 0.99 a month, from 5 slots to 64. Five slots cost EUR 4.95 and 10 cost EUR 9.90, renewing at the same price. Quarterly billing saves 10% and yearly billing 20%. The page shows prices as listed, with no tax line.
Compare 10 slots with G-Portal. G-Portal charges EUR 13.70 per 30 days for the same 10 slots, which is 38% more than DatHost's EUR 9.90. DatHost also includes 16 GB of DDR5 RAM per server, according to its page, and ships practice setups with grenade training ready to go.
Its refund is written into the terms. You email support within 14 days of the invoice date, and DatHost refunds or cancels it. Prepaid credit expires after one year, though, so don't top up more than you'll use.
Our probes reached its Frankfurt test server in 17.3 ms on average. Its New York server averaged 29.5 ms, the slowest of the North American servers we tested. The Mississauga probe pulled that up at 50.7 ms, so Canadian players should test DatHost's Toronto location instead.
Pros:
- 49 locations and instant relocation between them
- EUR 0.99 per slot with no renewal increase
- 14-day refund written into the terms
Cons:
- Slowest North American server we measured, 29.5 ms
- Prepaid credit expires after one year
- Capped at 64 slots
Pricing: EUR 4.95 a month for 5 slots, EUR 9.90 for 10, EUR 133.06 a year for 14 slots on yearly billing.
Best for: 5v5 teams, scrim groups and friends who want a server that just works.
Skip if: you need more than 64 slots; Host Havoc goes to 100.
Verdict: buy DatHost unless you need hourly billing, a weekend-only rental or 100 slots. For those, look at Kamatera, G-Portal or Host Havoc.
ZAP-Hosting - Best for Paying Once
Entry: USD 5.84/mo (10 slots, incl. 23% VAT) | Renews: USD 5.84/mo | Ping: 18.2 ms Europe, 25.6 ms North America (locations not stated)
USD 62.15, paid once. That's ZAP-Hosting's lifetime CS2 server, and no other host on this list sells one. At the monthly price of USD 5.84, it pays for itself in under 11 months.
The monthly server is cheap too. ZAP's configurator priced 10 slots with 2 GB of RAM at USD 5.84 a month, including the 23% Irish VAT our session was shown. That meets Valve's 2 GB minimum and costs USD 1.85 more than Apex's 1 GB plan, which doesn't. Six months prepaid saves 20%, and five years saves 50%.
Read two lines before you order. ZAP's own CS2 page shows two different entry prices, from USD 5.65 in one spot and from USD 5.75 in another. The configurator came out higher still. The configurator also defaults to Standard hardware. It then warns that "the standard hardware comes to its limits" for this game. Budget for the Premium upgrade on a busy server.
Billing is prepaid. If you stop paying, the server closes without further charges. There's no money-back guarantee, only an EU withdrawal right that ends once the service is delivered with your consent.
ZAP runs its own network. Our probes reached servers on it in 18.2 ms on average in Europe and 25.6 ms in North America. ZAP doesn't state which locations those servers sit in, so treat both as rough figures. The configurator offers eight locations: Frankfurt/Eygelshoven, London, Los Angeles, Ashburn, Montreal, Dallas, Sydney and Singapore.
Pros:
- Lifetime server for a one-time USD 62.15
- 2 GB RAM included at 10 slots
- Up to 50% off for long prepay terms
Cons:
- Default Standard hardware that ZAP itself calls limiting for CS2
- Three different entry prices across one page and its cart
- Eight locations, against 49 at DatHost
Pricing: USD 5.84 a month for 10 slots incl. VAT, or USD 62.15 for a lifetime server.
Best for: players who want to pay once and keep a small server for years.
Skip if: you need a location outside its eight cities; DatHost covers 49.
Verdict: buy the lifetime plan if you're sure you'll keep playing CS2 for a year. If you're not sure, DatHost's monthly plan carries less risk.
G-Portal - Best for Weekend Rentals
Entry: EUR 2.38 for 3 days (4 slots) | Renews: same rate per period | Ping: 19.8 ms Europe, 23.3 ms North America
Planning a Saturday tournament for two teams? G-Portal rents a CS2 server for 3 days from EUR 2.38, and no other host here sells a period that short. Longer rentals run 30 days at EUR 13.70 for 10 slots, 90 days at EUR 36.99, or a full year at 20% off.
G-Portal says it has hosted Counter-Strike since its founding. Its order page offers 12 regions, from Washington, D.C. and New York to Taipei and Mumbai, and servers from 4 slots up to 1,000. Every server gets 50 GB of backup space and DDoS filtering.
For a full month, it costs more than its rivals. DatHost's 10 slots cost EUR 9.90, so G-Portal charges 38% more for the same slot count. Its terms also contradict its marketing. The CS2 page promises "no contracts, no subscriptions". The terms describe automatic renewals, a 14-day money-back guarantee that starts with the automatic renewal, and 72 hours to claim a refund after a renewal. Paysafecard payments are not refundable at all.
On distance, G-Portal did best in North America. Its New York test server averaged 23.3 ms, the lowest North American result we measured. Its Central Europe server averaged 19.8 ms from our European probes. G-Portal doesn't say whether that server sits in Frankfurt, Lauterbourg or Karlsruhe.
Pros:
- 3-day rentals from EUR 2.38
- From 4 to 1,000 slots
- Best North American latency we measured, 23.3 ms
Cons:
- 38% more than DatHost for 10 slots over 30 days
- "No subscriptions" claim conflicts with its renewal terms
- Paysafecard payments can't be refunded
Pricing: EUR 2.38 for 3 days, EUR 13.70 per 30 days for 10 slots, prices as listed with no tax line shown.
Best for: one-off tournaments, LAN weekends and short events.
Skip if: the server runs all month; DatHost is EUR 3.80 cheaper for 10 slots.
Verdict: buy G-Portal for a weekend or an event. For a permanent server, DatHost's per-slot price wins.
Host Havoc - Best for Large Community Servers
Entry: USD 10.00/mo (20 slots) | Renews: USD 10.00/mo | Ping: 18.9 ms Europe, 25.7 ms North America (Chicago)
Where DatHost stops at 64 slots, Host Havoc starts at 20 and goes to 100. Its 20-slot CS2 server costs USD 10.00 a month, or USD 0.50 per slot. That's about half of GameServers' USD 0.99 private rate.
Host Havoc says it owns and runs its own hardware. Its Frankfurt router, named fr5 in Host Havoc's own DNS, runs on Host Havoc's own network. Our European probes reached it in 18.9 ms on average. We found no New York address to test. So we measured a Chicago range registered to Host Havoc, which its data center operator lists in Chicago. The Chicago probe got 13.2 ms, but the East Coast probes saw about 31 ms.
The site lists 14 locations: eight in North America, four in Europe, plus Singapore and Sydney. A banner offers 10% off new services for life with a code. Its CS2 panel is a modified TCAdmin with a Workshop installer, offsite backups and FTP access.
The terms are strict. Refunds run 72 hours from server creation, for a new customer's first order only, and never for longer billing terms. The SLA, last updated in 2018, credits 5% per hour of downtime below 100% uptime. That credit is at Host Havoc's discretion and excludes DDoS attacks, hardware failures and software failures.
Pros:
- USD 0.50 per slot at 20 slots
- Scales to 100 slots
- Runs its own network, which we reached in Frankfurt
Cons:
- 72-hour refund, first order only
- SLA credits exclude DDoS and hardware failures
- Minimum order is 20 slots
Pricing: USD 10.00 a month for 20 slots, scaling in steps of 4 slots to 100.
Best for: community servers with 20 to 100 players.
Skip if: you only need 10 slots; DatHost's EUR 9.90 for 10 slots fits better.
Verdict: buy Host Havoc for a large public server. Small teams should pick DatHost.
How we measured latency
On 1 October 2026 we used Globalping, a free network of volunteer probes, to ping each host's own infrastructure. In Europe the probes sat on home connections in Hamburg, London, Paris and Lodz. In North America they sat in Virginia Beach, Chicago, Mississauga and Coram, New York. Every host was measured from the same eight probes on the same day.
We aimed at each host's Frankfurt-area and New York-area servers where it ran one. The targets were the hosts' own ping-test servers, routers or machines on their own networks, never their marketing websites. A location counts as confirmed only when the host states it. That can be in its ping-test data, the server's own hostname or its data center operator's location list.
Three targets have no stated location: Host-Unlimited's test server, ZAP-Hosting's two servers and GameServers' European address. Read those rows as rough figures, not a like-for-like comparison. G-Portal states a region for its European target but not the city. Kamatera's test servers dropped most pings, so its figures are TCP connection times instead. This shows how far each host's network sits from real home connections. It doesn't measure how a CS2 server performs once it is busy.
The spread inside Europe ran from 15.6 ms to 21.5 ms. North America ran from 23.3 ms to 29.5 ms. The wrong continent costs far more. From the same North American probes, DatHost's Frankfurt server averaged 119.6 ms, against 29.5 ms for its New York server. So a host's map matters far more than its brand.
Where each host offers CS2 servers

How to Choose CS2 Server Hosting
Start with where your players live, then match the group size and budget. Every recommendation below names the alternative it beats.
Five to ten friends in Europe, under EUR 10 a month -> DatHost, at EUR 9.90 for 10 slots. G-Portal charges EUR 13.70 for the same slots, and Host-Unlimited charges EUR 8.99 for only 4 ad-free slots.
Players spread across North America -> Apex in New York or Vint Hill, or G-Portal in New York. Both averaged under 24 ms from our four North American probes. Skip Host-Unlimited, which has no North American location; its test server took 120.6 ms from the same probes.
A community of 20 or more on one public server -> Host Havoc at USD 10.00 for 20 slots. GameServers charges USD 25.95 for 20 public slots.
Three or four servers (5v5, retakes, deathmatch) on one bill -> Hostinger Game Panel 4. It has 4 vCPUs and 16 GB for USD 13.99 a month on a 24-month prepay. Budget for USD 28.99 a month after that. Four managed DatHost servers with 10 slots each would cost EUR 39.60 a month.
A team that plays a few nights a month -> Kamatera's hourly server at USD 0.016 an hour, or G-Portal's 3-day rental at EUR 2.38. A full month on Kamatera costs USD 12, so hourly only wins if the server sleeps most of the time. Our cloud hosting comparison ranks Kamatera against other cloud platforms.
Players in Romania, Bulgaria or Moldova -> DatHost in Bucharest or Sofia, or Kamatera in Bucharest. A local server saves routing every match through Frankfurt.
Thinking of hosting at home instead? You can, with a free GSLT and UDP port 27015 forwarded on your router. In a May 2026 Reddit thread, a player couldn't get friends connected, and replies pointed to carrier-grade NAT (CGNAT). With CGNAT, your provider shares one public IP across many homes, so port forwarding can't work.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a CS2 server cost per month?
Ten slots cost USD 5.84 a month at ZAP-Hosting, EUR 9.90 at DatHost and EUR 13.70 per 30 days at G-Portal. GameServers charges USD 9.95 for 10 private slots. For 20 players, Host Havoc works out to USD 0.50 per slot.
Can a 1 GB plan run a CS2 server?
Valve's dedicated server page lists 2 GB of RAM as the minimum. Apex still sells a 1 GB plan it labels "Minimum for Counter-Strike: 2". Pick a 2 GB plan or more, such as ZAP-Hosting's 10 slots at USD 5.84.
Is DatHost better than G-Portal for a 10-player server?
For a server that runs all month, yes. DatHost charges EUR 9.90 for 10 slots against G-Portal's EUR 13.70, and it lists 49 locations against 12. G-Portal wins only for short rentals, from EUR 2.38 for 3 days.
Can I host my own CS2 server at home?
Yes, if your home connection allows incoming traffic. You need a GSLT from Steam and UDP port 27015 forwarded to the machine. Many mobile and some cable providers use CGNAT, which blocks this, so check before buying hardware.
Final Verdict
DatHost is the pick for most CS2 groups: EUR 0.99 per slot, 49 cities and a 14-day refund in its terms. Hostinger Game Panel 2 suits admins running several servers, as long as they plan for the USD 14.99 renewal. Kamatera wins for hourly event servers and Bucharest, but monthly plans can't be refunded.
For large public servers, Host Havoc charges USD 0.50 per slot at 20 slots. Weekend organisers should rent from G-Portal, which also had the best North American result we measured. Anyone who wants to pay once should take ZAP-Hosting's lifetime plan. Apex Hosting pairs 14 cities with plugin guides, but skip its 1 GB plan. GameServers covers unusual cities, so get its refund rule in writing. Host-Unlimited.de only suits Europe, and its ad-free option costs EUR 1.00 extra.
