Central Technology Limited (CT), a cloud service provider, together with Veeam Cloud & Service Provider (VCSP) recently introduced new ransomware protection and Office 365 backup services. The services are built on Veeam software and Cloudian’s HyperStore object storage platform.
CT is a UK-based company that offers “a fast, fresh and simple approach to Managed Services, Cloud and Business Continuity that will help companies across all sectors stay one step ahead of the competition,” according to the company’s official website. VCSP is based in Baar, Switzerland, and operates in 160 countries.
Central Technology Limited Adds Ransomware Protection-as-a-Service
Apparently, CT is recognizing the persistent risk associated with ransomware attacks and wanted to provide customers with powerful ransomware protection-as-a-service. To do so, the company needed help and turned to Veeam and Cloudian.
The collaboration’s result is the so-called Object Lock solution that makes enduring backup data copies, that are persistent against ransomware’s encryption or deletion. The data immutability ensures the presence of a “healthy” data copy for reliable recovery following a ransomware attack, HostingJournalist reported.
According to Christopher Barr, Technical Director at CT, this is a great step up towards providing “best-of-breed technology“:

More about the Secure Cloud Backup for Office 365
The other addition to CT’s portfolio of services is the Secure Cloud Backup for Office 365. The service is built on Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365 and Cloudian HyperStore. The Office 365 protection can be described as a fully managed service providing extensive backup and replication, and unlimited storage and retention for Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive for Business. Shortly said, the services provide protection from accidental deletion, security threats, and retention policy gaps.
