Checkout tells a fuller story. Shared hosting customers pick from five locations: Lituanie, Espagne, Finlande, Asia and the USA. A server near your visitors cuts latency, so that range genuinely helps a European audience.

We found no independent benchmark data for Hostens from the past 12 mois. Here’s what can be verified instead.

The contract commits to 99.95% disponibilité, measured across a full calendar year. That allows roughly 4.4 heures d'arrêt par an. They also said an SSL certificate previously included was now billed separately, without notice. A second June 2026 reviewer wrote that the published price list was “very different” from what renewals actually cost.

Unexpected charges come next. Un novembre 2025 reviewer said Hostens emailed to say renewal had to be done manually, then charged their card anyway. Developers who want a cheap sandbox: A Container VPS at USD 3.00/mo with root access is a low-risk place to test. One long-term reviewer called Hostens fine for simple applications but not for production. That’s fair, and it’s also a legitimate use case.

Small resellers watching margins: R10 costs USD 4.00/mo with cPanel and WHM, leaving room to price above cost. Budget for the USD 8.00 renouvellement.

Pricing here works differently from most hosts, and the difference cuts both ways.

Verdict sur les prix

Commit for three years and read carefully, and Hostens is cheap. Do neither and it’s ordinary value.

The real problem is the pricing page. Sur 30 juillet 2026 it advertised the same shared hosting at five different starting prices. The page title said “from $2/month”. The search description said “from $0.10/mo”. The FAQ said the price “commence à $0.90 par mois” and described a 20 GB plan for under a dollar. The plan card said USD 9.99. The cheapest real price, in the cart, était en USD 4.99. So which figure should a buyer believe? Ce dollar 0.90 line has sat there since at least 17 janvier 2025, and no plan matching its description exists.

That same page promises “your renewal hosting plan price will not change”. Technically that’s accurate, because the list rate holds steady. What disappears is the coupon, and your bill doubles. In fairness, the page also promises Hostens “won’t charge 3-4 times the price” au renouvellement, and it doesn’t. Doubling is milder than much of the market.

Hostens Transparency Score

This section rates how forthcoming Hostens is with information, separately from how good the hosting is.
