Older reviews from 2021 y 2022 objected to being asked for a driving licence to prove identity. The terms of service do let Hostens withhold activation where identity is in doubt, so that’s policy rather than an agent going off script.

That same page promises “your renewal hosting plan price will not change”. Technically that’s accurate, because the list rate holds steady. What disappears is the coupon, and your bill doubles.
