Swisscom is Switzerland’s largest telecoms and IT company. Telecom PTT became Swisscom on 1 Outubro 1997, and Swisscom Ltd listed on the stock exchange on 5 Outubro 1998. That list is the whole story of this review. Em dezembro 2023 Swisscom sent termination letters to its web hosting customers, aproximadamente 20,000 contracts by the Swiss trade press count. What Swisscom Still Sells

Dynamic Computing Services is the one product a small business can still call hosting. You rent virtual servers, meaning a slice of a physical machine that behaves like your own, e você paga pelo que usa. Swisscom guarantees 99.9% availability on it and lets you cancel at any time.

The catch is who it’s built for. Swisscom’s own DCS price estimate sheet gives two example configurations. Four vCPUs, 8 GB de RAM, 8 GB of storage and Windows Server on a 50 Mbps line costs CHF 280 por mês. Eight vCPUs with 16 GB de RAM e 128 GB storage costs CHF 529 por mês. Swisscom runs seven data centres in Switzerland for business customers: Basel-Grosspeter, Bern-Wankdorf, Geneva-Montbrillant, Lausanne-Savoie, Lugano-Cinque Vie, Zurich-Enge and Zurich-Herdern. Wankdorf holds Tier IV certification from the Uptime Institute, the highest facility rating available. The group also lists ISO 9001, 14001, 14064, 15504 e 27001 certificações.

Those are real assets, and they explain why Swisscom kept the enterprise side. None of it helps a person who wanted a CHF 10 plano de hospedagem.

Reviews are still arriving, com 570 posted in the last twelve months.

One thing separates this corpus from most we analyse. Swisscom doesn’t solicit reviews. The profile shows no invitation campaigns and no incentivised reviews. Every one of those 2,407 ratings came from someone who chose to write it. That makes the score more honest than a 4.8 built on automated review requests. It also makes it harsher, because contented telecoms customers rarely post.

The network. Positive reviews consistently return to coverage, mobile speed and fibre reliability, which matches Swisscom’s record in independent Swiss network tests. Nobody praises the price.

Long-standing customers also praise the shops. Several 5-star reviews come from people who walked into a branch and had the problem solved that day.

Response discipline deserves credit too. Trustpilot records a reply on every negative review it counts, at an average of 0.41 dias. The most recent reply landed the day before we checked. Plenty of hosts with better scores ignore their critics entirely.

Price is the single loudest theme. Reviewers describe paying CHF 170 per month and still feeling underserved, and the phrase “viel zu teuer”, far too expensive, recurs across German-language reviews.

The second theme is reaching a human. Múltiplo 2026 reviews describe a voice-controlled hotline that misunderstands requests and can’t be bypassed with keypad entry. Swisscom’s own residential contact page backs them up. It leads with an app, a digital assistant and the community forum, not a phone number.

Terceiro: automatic contract changes, such as a child’s subscription converting to an adult tariff. These are telecoms complaints, not hosting complaints. Weigh them that way.

Reddit has almost nothing on Swisscom hosting. A search across every subreddit returns a handful of posts, none discussing the product on its merits. That silence is informative: developers never chose this host.

What Reddit does have is the aftermath. In a June 2025 r/Switzerland thread, a company moved from Swisscom to localsearch listed three problems: an invoice dispute unresolved after a year, a contact who stopped answering, and a domain transfer code that never arrived. Another user replied that a lawyer’s registered letter produced the code within days. A separate November 2024 thread collects complaints about localsearch sales practices from Swiss business owners.

The Swisscom community forum is more specific. Em maio 2024, days after the migration, customers posted that neither their website nor their e-mail worked. One quoted localsearch’s auto-reply promising a five to seven working day response time. A long-time member wrote that Swisscom support “answered immediately” em comparação, then cancelled and moved elsewhere. A Swiss IT consultant in the same thread identified the new mail servers as green.ch infrastructure. Our own DNS and RIPE checks confirm it.

Swisscom support has two reputations. In consumer telecoms, reviewers report long hotline waits and a voice menu they dislike, offset by good in-store help. Na hospedagem, the forum verdict was that Swisscom’s own support was decent and the successor’s wasn’t.

On the business side, the DCS Basic SLA covers weekdays from 7 sou. para 6 PM. If your server fails on a Saturday, that contract does not promise anyone will look at it.

When to Use Swisscom

Swisscom is a reasonable choice in a narrow set of cases.

Swiss companies with a data sovereignty requirement: seven Swiss data centres, one of them Tier IV certified, with data held under Swiss jurisdiction. For a bank, a clinic or a public body, that is often the whole decision.

Businesses that want one vendor for connectivity and compute: DCS plugs into Swisscom’s Enterprise WAN. Your office network and your servers then sit with one supplier, on one invoice.

Organisations with unpredictable capacity needs: usage-based billing with no minimum term suits seasonal load better than a fixed server contract.

Domain registration is what you need: Swisscom handed domains to a partner and no longer acts as a registrar. Any Swiss host will do this.

A website builder is the point: the HomepageTool is gone. localsearch rebuilt those sites in a different editor, and licensed stock images couldn’t come along.

You want a price before you talk to sales: Swisscom publishes an indicative DCS sheet and nothing else. Its own document calls the figures non-binding.

The leftovers were never cleaned up. A migration portal at swisscom-offering.localsearch.ch was still live in September 2026. It tells visitors their migration runs “bis Ende August 2024” and offers a free migration worth CHF 1,990.
