respuesta corta: you cannot buy web hosting from Swisscom. The company cancelled its hosting, e-mail, domain and website-builder contracts and switched the service off on 31 Mayo 2024. What’s left is a telecoms operator selling internet lines, Microsoft 365 licences and enterprise cloud servers. Came here for a Swisscom hosting plan? The useful part below is where those customers went, and what it costs them now.
This analysis rests on three things: the live Swisscom catalogue checked in September 2026, a corpus of 2,407 revisiones públicas, and the Swiss community threads about the forced migration. Affiliate pages still list Swisscom hosting packages with prices. We checked whether you can order them. no puedes. We also show what the replacement providers charge, which most reviews skip.
Evaluación general: Swisscom scores 1.6 fuera de 5 a través de 2,407 revisiones públicas, y 72% of those sit at one star. That corpus covers the telecoms business, not the hosting product. We state that limit openly. Best suited to Swiss companies needing enterprise cloud servers in Swiss data centres. Wrong for anyone shopping for a shared hosting plan.

Nota sobre reseñas anteriores: Swisscom shut its web hosting, e-mail hosting, domain and website-builder services on 31 Mayo 2024, cancelling roughly 20,000 contracts. Any review that quotes a Swisscom hosting price is describing a product you can no longer buy.

Características y servicios
Swisscom is Switzerland’s largest telecoms and IT company. Telecom PTT became Swisscom on 1 octubre 1997, and Swisscom Ltd listed on the stock exchange on 5 octubre 1998. The Swiss Confederation still owns 51% de eso. A partir de 31 diciembre 2025 the group reported revenue of CHF 15,048 millones y 23,266 empleados.

Tipos de hosting ofrecidos
- Shared Hosting – discontinued on 31 Mayo 2024, no replacement
- E-Mail Hosting on your own domain – discontinued on the same date
- Domain registration – discontinued, handed to a partner
- Creador de sitios web (the HomepageTool) – discontinued
- Cloud servers – Dynamic Computing Services (DCS), still sold to businesses
- Colocation and managed data centre services – still sold, cita solamente
That list is the whole story of this review. En diciembre 2023 Swisscom sent termination letters to its web hosting customers, apenas 20,000 contracts by the Swiss trade press count. Swisscom gave its reason to the financial site cash.ch in January 2024: “der Aufwand im Hinblick auf das erreichbare Marktpotential im Bereich Website- und Hosting ist zu gross”. The effort was too large for the market it could reach.
What Swisscom Still Sells
Dynamic Computing Services is the one product a small business can still call hosting. You rent virtual servers, meaning a slice of a physical machine that behaves like your own, y pagas por lo que usas. Swisscom guarantees 99.9% availability on it and lets you cancel at any time.
The catch is who it’s built for. Swisscom’s own DCS price estimate sheet gives two example configurations. Four vCPUs, 8 GB de RAM, 8 GB of storage and Windows Server on a 50 Mbps line costs CHF 280 por mes. Eight vCPUs with 16 GB de RAM y 128 GB storage costs CHF 529 por mes. Both assume the Basic SLA (Acuerdo de Nivel de Servicio, the contractual support and uptime commitment). That covers Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. a 6 pm. solamente.
Ubicaciones del centro de datos
Swisscom runs seven data centres in Switzerland for business customers: Basel-Grosspeter, Bern-Wankdorf, Geneva-Montbrillant, Lausanne-Savoie, Lugano-Cinque Vie, Zurich-Enge and Zurich-Herdern. Wankdorf holds Tier IV certification from the Uptime Institute, the highest facility rating available. The group also lists ISO 9001, 14001, 14064, 15504 y 27001 certificaciones.
Those are real assets, and they explain why Swisscom kept the enterprise side. None of it helps a person who wanted a CHF 10 plan de alojamiento.
Expectativas de desempeño
No independent benchmark data exists for Swisscom shared hosting, and none can be produced now. The platform is gone. For DCS, Swisscom publishes a 99.9% garantía de disponibilidad, but no third-party speed or uptime tests exist. We’d rather say that plainly than invent numbers.
Experiencia del cliente
Swisscom holds a 1.6 TrustScore en todo 2,407 revisiones públicas. The average hides the shape of it, so here’s the full distribution: 1,741 reviews at one star (72.3%), 159 at two, 53 at three, 59 at four and 395 en cinco estrellas (16.4%). Reviews are still arriving, con 570 posted in the last twelve months.
One thing separates this corpus from most we analyse. Swisscom doesn’t solicit reviews. The profile shows no invitation campaigns and no incentivised reviews. Cada uno de esos 2,407 ratings came from someone who chose to write it. That makes the score more honest than a 4.8 built on automated review requests. It also makes it harsher, because contented telecoms customers rarely post.
Lo que los clientes elogian
The network. Positive reviews consistently return to coverage, mobile speed and fibre reliability, which matches Swisscom’s record in independent Swiss network tests. Nobody praises the price.
Long-standing customers also praise the shops. Several 5-star reviews come from people who walked into a branch and had the problem solved that day.
Response discipline deserves credit too. Trustpilot records a reply on every negative review it counts, en un promedio de 0.41 dias. The most recent reply landed the day before we checked. Plenty of hosts with better scores ignore their critics entirely.
Quejas comunes
Price is the single loudest theme. Reviewers describe paying CHF 170 per month and still feeling underserved, and the phrase “viel zu teuer”, far too expensive, recurs across German-language reviews.
The second theme is reaching a human. Múltiple 2026 reviews describe a voice-controlled hotline that misunderstands requests and can’t be bypassed with keypad entry. Swisscom’s own residential contact page backs them up. It leads with an app, a digital assistant and the community forum, not a phone number.
Tercero: automatic contract changes, such as a child’s subscription converting to an adult tariff. These are telecoms complaints, not hosting complaints. Weigh them that way.
Comentarios de la comunidad (Reddit & El)
Reddit has almost nothing on Swisscom hosting. A search across every subreddit returns a handful of posts, none discussing the product on its merits. That silence is informative: developers never chose this host.
What Reddit does have is the aftermath. In a June 2025 r/Switzerland thread, a company moved from Swisscom to localsearch listed three problems: an invoice dispute unresolved after a year, a contact who stopped answering, and a domain transfer code that never arrived. Another user replied that a lawyer’s registered letter produced the code within days. A separate November 2024 thread collects complaints about localsearch sales practices from Swiss business owners.
The Swisscom community forum is more specific. En Mayo 2024, days after the migration, customers posted that neither their website nor their e-mail worked. One quoted localsearch’s auto-reply promising a five to seven working day response time. A long-time member wrote that Swisscom support “answered immediately” en comparación, then cancelled and moved elsewhere. A Swiss IT consultant in the same thread identified the new mail servers as green.ch infrastructure. Our own DNS and RIPE checks confirm it.
Calidad de soporte
Swisscom support has two reputations. In consumer telecoms, reviewers report long hotline waits and a voice menu they dislike, offset by good in-store help. Sobre alojamiento, the forum verdict was that Swisscom’s own support was decent and the successor’s wasn’t.
On the business side, the DCS Basic SLA covers weekdays from 7 a.m. a 6 pm. If your server fails on a Saturday, that contract does not promise anyone will look at it.
When to Use Swisscom
Swisscom is a reasonable choice in a narrow set of cases.
Ideal para
Swiss companies with a data sovereignty requirement: seven Swiss data centres, one of them Tier IV certified, with data held under Swiss jurisdiction. For a bank, a clinic or a public body, that is often the whole decision.
Businesses that want one vendor for connectivity and compute: DCS plugs into Swisscom’s Enterprise WAN. Your office network and your servers then sit with one supplier, on one invoice.
Organisations with unpredictable capacity needs: usage-based billing with no minimum term suits seasonal load better than a fixed server contract.
Lo agradecerás si
- You need a named account team, because Swisscom sells enterprise services through people, no es una caja
- You already run Microsoft 365 through Swisscom, since licences and cloud sit in the same account
- You want colocation in a Swiss facility with published ISO certifications
When NOT to Use Swisscom
For most people reading a hosting review, Swisscom is simply not an option. Look elsewhere if any of this applies.
Mira en otra parte si
You want a shared hosting plan: no hay uno. Swisscom left this market on 31 Mayo 2024, and nothing in the current catalogue replaces it. Hostpoint, green.ch and Infomaniak all sell Swiss-hosted plans today.
Domain registration is what you need: Swisscom handed domains to a partner and no longer acts as a registrar. Any Swiss host will do this.
A website builder is the point: the HomepageTool is gone. localsearch rebuilt those sites in a different editor, and licensed stock images couldn’t come along.
You want a price before you talk to sales: Swisscom publishes an indicative DCS sheet and nothing else. Its own document calls the figures non-binding.
Banderas rojas para su situación
- Budget under CHF 100 un mes: the cheapest configuration Swisscom illustrates is CHF 280 por mes
- You need weekend support: the Basic SLA runs weekdays only, 7 a.m. a 6 pm.
- You want self-service: there is no cart, no instant provisioning and no trial for DCS
- You are outside Switzerland: localsearch’s hosting terms require a Swiss or Liechtenstein company domicile
Si alguno de estos se aplica, ver las alternativas a continuación.
Swisscom Transparency Score
We assess how upfront Swisscom is with the information a buyer needs.
- Información de la empresa: Excellent – ownership, ingresos, headcount, data centre sites and certifications are published with the reporting date attached
- Transparencia de precios: Limited – no hosting price list exists, and the DCS sheet is explicitly non-binding. Two sample configurations beat nothing, but you can’t budget from them
- Documentación técnica: Good – the enterprise cloud docs are public and date their end-of-life notices precisely. The retired hosting pages went without a redirect
- Condiciones & Políticas: Limited – hosting terms PDFs are still served from swisscom.ch, including a Hosted Exchange service description written around Outlook 2003 y 2007. Nothing on them says the product is withdrawn
Transparencia general: Strong on corporate facts, weak on anything a buyer needs. The exit was announced by letter and covered in the press, which beats several hosts we’ve reviewed. The leftovers were never cleaned up. A migration portal at swisscom-offering.localsearch.ch was still live in September 2026. It tells visitors their migration runs “bis Ende August 2024” and offers a free migration worth CHF 1,990.
Alternatives to Swisscom
If you came here for Swiss hosting, these three fill the gap Swisscom left.
For a Direct Replacement: green.ch
It’s already running your site if you were migrated to localsearch, so buying direct removes a middleman. Web Hosting S costs CHF 12.90 por mes para 100 GB de almacenamiento SSD, with backups every six hours and Swiss georedundant data centres. The M plan advertises CHF 7.45 for the first year and renews at CHF 14.90, so read the term before you sign.
For Support and Stability: Hostpoint
Switzerland’s largest independent host, with servers in Zurich and support seven days a week, 8 a.m. a 6 p.m., public holidays included. Standard costs CHF 15.90 por mes para 100 GB, con 30 days of backups and a 30-day money-back guarantee. It’s in our Switzerland web hosting guide with the rest of the shortlist.
For Trying Before Buying: Infomaniak
The Geneva provider gives you 30 días gratis con 250 GB de almacenamiento y 20 sitios, plus telephone support. Swisscom never offered a trial on anything. Infomaniak also ranks in our Guía suiza de alojamiento de WordPress if that’s your platform.

Swisscom isn’t a web host, and hasn’t been since 31 Mayo 2024. Rating it as one would be dishonest. So here’s the honest version: as a telecoms and enterprise cloud provider it scores 1.6 fuera de 5 a través de 2,407 unsolicited reviews. Price and phone support drive almost three quarters of them to one star.
La línea de fondo
If you need Swiss data centres, an enterprise contract and a named account manager, Swisscom is a credible supplier with genuine infrastructure behind it. If you need a hosting plan, a domain or a mailbox on your own domain, it has nothing to sell you and won’t have.
los 20,000 or so customers moved out in 2024 still have a decision to make. Many sit on the localsearch platform, which runs on green.ch hardware. Buying from green.ch, Hostpoint or Infomaniak directly is usually cheaper and always simpler.

Preguntas frecuentes
Does Swisscom still offer web hosting?
No. Swisscom cancelled its web hosting, e-mail hosting, domain and website builder contracts in December 2023 and shut the services down on 31 Mayo 2024. The product pages now return a 404 error. Its SME catalogue lists internet, Microsoft 365, cloud and security, with no hosting entry.
What happened to Swisscom hosting customers?
They were moved to other companies. Swisscom named two of its own subsidiaries, localsearch and MTF Solutions, plus the partners Serv24 and Global IP Action for domains. Migration was free except at Global IP Action, which charged CHF 9.50 por cuenta. Swiss trade press put the number of affected contracts at roughly 20,000.
Is Swisscom worth the price?
Para alojamiento, the question doesn’t apply. For its cloud servers, the smallest configuration Swisscom illustrates costs CHF 280 por mes, and that buys Swiss data centres and an enterprise contract. If you don’t need those two things, you’re paying a lot for them.
¿De qué se quejan más los clientes??
Price comes first, por un amplio margen. Reaching a human comes second, con 2026 reviews describing a voice hotline that misunderstands requests. Former hosting customers complain about a different thing: the forced move in 2024 and the support they got afterwards from localsearch.
How does Swisscom compare to Hostpoint or Infomaniak?
They aren’t in the same business any more. Hostpoint sells shared hosting from CHF 15.90 per month with a 30-day money-back guarantee, and Infomaniak gives 30 dias libres. Swisscom sells enterprise cloud infrastructure priced from CHF 280 per month with no trial.
Can I still get a Swisscom e-mail address?
Swisscom still runs Bluewin E-Mail, and its help pages still cover setting it up. What ended on 31 Mayo 2024 was e-mail hosting on your own domain. For mailboxes at [email protected], you now need another provider. The guides linked above cover the options.
