Swisscom is Switzerland’s largest telecoms and IT company. Telecom PTT became Swisscom on 1 octubre 1997, and Swisscom Ltd listed on the stock exchange on 5 octubre 1998. What Swisscom Still Sells

The catch is who it’s built for. Swisscom’s own DCS price estimate sheet gives two example configurations. Wankdorf holds Tier IV certification from the Uptime Institute, the highest facility rating available. The group also lists ISO 9001, 14001, 14064, 15504 y 27001 certificaciones.

Those are real assets, and they explain why Swisscom kept the enterprise side. None of it helps a person who wanted a CHF 10 plan de alojamiento.

One thing separates this corpus from most we analyse. Swisscom doesn’t solicit reviews. The profile shows no invitation campaigns and no incentivised reviews. Long-standing customers also praise the shops. Several 5-star reviews come from people who walked into a branch and had the problem solved that day.

Response discipline deserves credit too. Trustpilot records a reply on every negative review it counts, en un promedio de 0.41 dias. The most recent reply landed the day before we checked. Plenty of hosts with better scores ignore their critics entirely.

Price is the single loudest theme. Reviewers describe paying CHF 170 per month and still feeling underserved, and the phrase “viel zu teuer”, far too expensive, recurs across German-language reviews.

The second theme is reaching a human. Múltiple 2026 reviews describe a voice-controlled hotline that misunderstands requests and can’t be bypassed with keypad entry. Swisscom’s own residential contact page backs them up. It leads with an app, a digital assistant and the community forum, not a phone number.

Tercero: automatic contract changes, such as a child’s subscription converting to an adult tariff. These are telecoms complaints, not hosting complaints. Weigh them that way.

Reddit has almost nothing on Swisscom hosting. A search across every subreddit returns a handful of posts, none discussing the product on its merits. That silence is informative: developers never chose this host.

What Reddit does have is the aftermath. In a June 2025 r/Switzerland thread, a company moved from Swisscom to localsearch listed three problems: an invoice dispute unresolved after a year, a contact who stopped answering, and a domain transfer code that never arrived. Another user replied that a lawyer’s registered letter produced the code within days. A separate November 2024 thread collects complaints about localsearch sales practices from Swiss business owners.

The Swisscom community forum is more specific. En Mayo 2024, days after the migration, customers posted that neither their website nor their e-mail worked. One quoted localsearch’s auto-reply promising a five to seven working day response time. A long-time member wrote that Swisscom support “answered immediately” en comparación, then cancelled and moved elsewhere. When to Use Swisscom

Swisscom is a reasonable choice in a narrow set of cases.

Swiss companies with a data sovereignty requirement: seven Swiss data centres, one of them Tier IV certified, with data held under Swiss jurisdiction. For a bank, a clinic or a public body, that is often the whole decision.

Businesses that want one vendor for connectivity and compute: DCS plugs into Swisscom’s Enterprise WAN. Your office network and your servers then sit with one supplier, on one invoice.

Organisations with unpredictable capacity needs: usage-based billing with no minimum term suits seasonal load better than a fixed server contract.

When NOT to Use Swisscom

For most people reading a hosting review, Swisscom is simply not an option. Look elsewhere if any of this applies.

You want a price before you talk to sales: Swisscom publishes an indicative DCS sheet and nothing else. Its own document calls the figures non-binding.

The leftovers were never cleaned up. A migration portal at swisscom-offering.localsearch.ch was still live in September 2026. It tells visitors their migration runs “bis Ende August 2024” and offers a free migration worth CHF 1,990.

They were moved to other companies. Swisscom named two of its own subsidiaries, localsearch and MTF Solutions, plus the partners Serv24 and Global IP Action for domains.
