AN Hosting registered anhosting.com on 15 décembre 2001 and sold one thing: cheap Linux shared hosting for small US websites. Its homepage called it “Shared Hosting Services Made Simple Since 2001”. UK2 Group bought it in 2007 with the rest of midPhase Services. From that point AN Hosting was a storefront, not a company.

What AN Hosting Actually Sold

Archived on 19 Mai 2016, the last working version of the site offered a single package called Unlimited Web Hosting. Where AN Hosting Went

Then even the redirect stopped. We checked the domain on 10 septembre 2026 and it fails completely. Public resolvers return SERVFAIL, meaning no answer could be produced. The .com registry still points the domain at ns1.midphase.com and ns2.midphase.com. Those two nameservers (the machines holding a domain’s address records) answer REFUSED for anhosting.com while answering normally for midphase.com. The zone has been deleted from them.

There’s no A record, which is the entry that points a name at a web server. There’s no MX record either, and that’s the entry that routes email to a domain. Sans un, every message sent to an anhosting.com address bounces. The subdomains are gone too: www, cpanel, messagerie Web, facturation, my, portal and support all return nothing.

Dating the Shutdown

Public certificate transparency logs date it more tightly than the archive does. These logs record every TLS certificate a site is issued, which is what makes an HTTPS padlock work. The domain has 630 logged certificates going back to 2005. The last one covering anhosting.com and www.anhosting.com was issued on 16 avril 2026 and expired on 15 juillet 2026. The final certificate for any anhosting.com hostname expired on 21 juillet 2026.

Nothing has been issued since. These were 90-day certificates set to renew automatically, so a renewal should have fired in mid-June. It didn’t. There are no AN Hosting servers left to describe. Surviving accounts sit on Midphase infrastructure, which offers London, Dallas or Singapore. We found no independent benchmark data for AN Hosting, which isn’t surprising for a brand that has been a redirect since 2016. The only performance figure worth quoting is the 99.99% uptime guarantee now printed on the plan cards.

That is an AN Hosting-era customer walking away over an operational change.

A larger r/webhosting thread from 21 juin 2024, “Midphase support is not 24/7, at best 8/5”, collected 34 comments during the platform migration. The reported problems are specific. One commenter’s email had been down four days, and they couldn’t open a ticket, because that required a verification email they couldn’t receive. Another was repeatedly given DNS settings that turned out to be wrong. A third wrote “Lost like 5 years of emails”, because old messages didn’t carry across to the new mail system.

One failure mode deserves naming above the rest, and it’s the verification-email loop.
