Where AN Hosting Went

Those two nameservers (the machines holding a domain’s address records) answer REFUSED for anhosting.com while answering normally for midphase.com. The zone has been deleted from them.

There’s no A record, which is the entry that points a name at a web server. There’s no MX record either, and that’s the entry that routes email to a domain. Sem um, every message sent to an anhosting.com address bounces. The subdomains are gone too: www, cpanel, Correio eletrónico, faturamento, my, portal and support all return nothing.

Dating the Shutdown

Public certificate transparency logs date it more tightly than the archive does. These logs record every TLS certificate a site is issued, which is what makes an HTTPS padlock work. The domain has 630 logged certificates going back to 2005. The last one covering anhosting.com and www.anhosting.com was issued on 16 abril 2026 and expired on 15 Julho 2026. The final certificate for any anhosting.com hostname expired on 21 Julho 2026.

Nothing has been issued since. These were 90-day certificates set to renew automatically, so a renewal should have fired in mid-June. It didn’t. This pattern isn’t new either. An r/sysadmin post from 2 Julho 2018 describes a customer who couldn’t get a domain transfer code. The code kept going to an email address that no longer existed, and support stayed silent for a month.
