Amen.fr’s cheapest Web Hosting plan in year one is not its smallest. Advanced costs EUR 42.50 excluding VAT for the first 12 mois, less than Starter. It then renews at EUR 141.60 une année, 3.33 times the first bill. Our Average Score for Amen is 3.5, basé sur 429 avis examinés. Most of those reviews come from Portugal, where the sister brand Amen.pt operates.
En octobre 2026 we read Amen.fr’s plan cards, order cart and official price list. We also read its general terms and the special conditions for each hosting type. We added Trustpilot’s 818-review profile, the French company register and a Reddit search. We didn’t buy a plan or contact support. The one thing we measured ourselves was network latency to three Amen server locations, from home internet connections in ten countries. The pages that rank for this host list its features. None of them prices a hosting plan’s second year, and none noticed that Amen’s own contract puts shared hosting in Brussels.
Notre verdict: Amen.fr suits a small French business that wants its domain, email and site in one account. A Paris-region phone line answers during office hours. Its support agents earn real praise. The complaints are renewal bills, above all on domains, and sites lost during plan changes.

Amen.fr raised the renewal price of its Starter Web Hosting plan from EUR 5.75 c'est des euros 7.40 a month between November 2023 et avril 2025. Archived copies of the plans page, which quotes prices excluding VAT, show two steps. The first came between 30 novembre 2023 et 20 janvier 2024, the second between 27 novembre 2024 et 16 avril 2025. Any review quoting EUR 5.75 describes a price Amen no longer charges.

What Amen.fr Sells, and Who Is Behind It
Amen.fr is the French arm of a European hosting group. The legal company is Agence des Medias Numeriques SASU, registered in Paris since 1999. Its sole shareholder is Register S.p.A., and Amen says it belongs to team.blue, a group that also owns Register.it, Names.co.uk and Nominalia. The French register lists one or two employees for 2024, which suggests most of the work behind the brand happens elsewhere in the group.
The catalogue is wide for a host of this size:
- Hébergement Web: Linux shared hosting on Amen’s own control panel, in three sizes.
- WePanel and Windows hosting: WePanel adds Softaculous (a one-click app installer); Windows plans run IIS (Le serveur Web de Microsoft), ASP.NET and SQL Server 2022.
- Hébergement WordPress: four plans, sold again as “géré” WordPress at the same prices.
- VPS et serveurs dédiés: VPS (serveur privé virtuel) plans from XS to X64 billed monthly, plus Intel and AMD machines.
- Domaines, email and add-ons: Amen is an accredited .fr registrar and also resells Microsoft 365, SSL certificates and a site builder.
The Features That Matter Day to Day
Web Hosting uses an in-house panel rather than cPanel, the panel many hosts use. That matters if you plan to move later, because many tutorials and migration tools assume cPanel. Every plan includes a free SSL certificate and NVMe drives (stockage SSD rapide). You also get a malware scanner called Security Shield and a free domain for year one.
Caching is generous on paper. Le démarreur obtient 128 MB of Varnish cache, a store of ready-made pages. Advanced and Expert add Redis (an in-memory data cache) à 512 MB and 1,024 Mo. The managed WordPress plans add automatic updates and a one-click staging copy, which is a test version of your site.
Backups are the feature to read twice. The plan cards say copies are kept for 12 hours on Starter and Advanced, et 24 hours on Expert. The Webhosting terms describe hourly copies for 24 hours and daily copies for 28 journées. Those same terms make backups a “best efforts” un service, and the customer releases Amen from liability if a restore fails. Keep your own copy.
Instead of a money-back guarantee, Amen offers free trials. Its trial page gives Linux and Windows hosting 30 journées, and the Web Hosting and WordPress cards carry a free-trial button too. The terms switch automatic renewal on for trials, so note the end date.
Bruxelles, Reading or Milan? Where Your Site Lives
Amen gives three answers to this question. Its data center page names Reading, Angleterre, as its main site and says its data centers host all its products, shared hosting included. It lists Italy, Canada and Hong Kong as other locations. No French data center appears anywhere on amen.fr.
The contracts say something else. The Webhosting special conditions, daté 26 Mai 2023, name team.blue server farms in Brussels or Milan. They then state that customer sites sit in the Brussels data center. They add that Amen has no plan to move them, and that the backup copy also stays in Brussels.
The WordPress conditions also say Brussels. le 2024 VPS conditions put servers in an EU data center run by TransIP, another team.blue company. For most French sites, Brussels is close and inside the EU, so the location itself is fine. The problem is that the sales pages and the contract disagree, and buyers who need data in France can’t get it from these plans.
Attentes en matière de performances
We measured round-trip network latency on 6 octobre 2026 using Globalping, a free service whose probes are run by volunteers. The probes sat on 11 household and mobile connections across ten countries, and each sent ten pings. Results are in milliseconds (SP). The targets were three team.blue machines. One is a Brussels server hosting sites on Amen’s name servers, one a Milan hosting server, one Amen’s training site in Reading. It shows how fast Amen’s network replies, which is not the same as page load speed.
| Probe (home ISP) | Bruxelles (SP) | Milan (SP) | En lisant (SP) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lille, France (Orange) | 9.3 | 23.1 | 16.6 |
| Lyon, France (SFR) | 16.0 | 23.6 | 18.4 |
| Antwerp, Belgique (Télénet) | 15.4 | 34.5 | 20.9 |
| Londres, Royaume-Uni (BT) | 10.2 | 28.3 | 5.9 |
| Berlin, Allemagne (Deutsche Telekom) | 21.4 | 20.7 | 25.7 |
| Macerata, Italie (Dimensione) | 36.4 | 9.4 | 38.7 |
| Cartagena, Espagne (Aire Networks) | 53.6 | 62.3 | 59.6 |
| crême Philadelphia, NOUS (Verizon) | 89.9 | 99.6 | 74.7 |
| Montréal, Canada (Cloche) | 94.3 | 103.1 | 81.5 |
| Saint-Pierre, Réunion (Orange) | 235.9 | 231.4 | 238.1 |
| Tokyo, Japon (KDDI) | 252.5 | 257.8 | 252.9 |
Brussels is the location that matters for shared hosting, and it serves France well: 9.3 ms from Lille and 16.0 ms from Lyon. No probe lost a single packet. Visitors in Reunion and Japan wait more than 230 ms for every round trip, whichever of the three locations serves them. We found no independent speed benchmark of Amen’s hosting.
The provider’s claims run ahead of its contract. The Web Hosting page says, en français, “we guarantee 99.999% disponibilité”. The Webhosting terms contain no percentage at all. They promise service around the clock “subject to maintenance” and exclude liability unless Amen is at fault deliberately or through gross negligence. Customers have reported outages too, y compris un “Service Temporarily Unavailable” error in February 2026.

Sur Trustpilot, Amen.fr holds a TrustScore of 4.3 de 818 Commentaires, et 108 of them arrived within the past year. Ratings cluster at the two ends: 610 avis cinq étoiles (74.6%) et 117 avis d'une étoile (14.3%), avec peu d'intermédiaire. Le nôtre 3.5 draws on a different pool, mostly reviews from Portugal, where Amen.pt operates. Sur Trustpilot, Amen.pt itself scores 1.6 de 457 Commentaires.

Notice the gap between the long five-star bar and the red one-star bar, avec presque rien au milieu. La source: Trustpilot profile for amen.fr, capturé 6 octobre 2026.
The split makes sense once you look at where the reviews come from. De la 200 avis les plus récents, posted between February 2025 et octobre 2026, 134 came through a review link Amen shares itself. Ceux en moyenne 4.96 étoiles, and none gave one star. le 62 reviews written unprompted averaged 3.60, et 20 of them gave one star. Trustpilot also marks the profile as a paying subscriber.
Praise Centres on Named Support Agents
Most recent five-star reviews thank a support agent by first name. The problems are concrete: a hacked WordPress site cleaned up, DNS records fixed, a PHP version conflict solved within a day, a migration finished. Long-standing customers add to it, including two who say they’ve used Amen for 20 years or more.
The Complaints Repeat: Renouvellements, Lost Sites, Paid Extras
The unprompted reviews tell a different story, and the same themes come back:
- Choc du renouveau: one domain bought for EUR 2 renewed at EUR 58 (septembre 2026). A WordPress plan sold at EUR 2.47 a month renewed at EUR 175.98 (août 2025).
- Sites deleted during plan changes: several customers lost sites after a “package change” or server migration between February and June 2026. Amen’s April 2026 reply admits the change “should have happened transparently and securely”.
- Paid privacy and recovery: customers object to paying for WHOIS privacy, and one was charged EUR 100 to recover deleted mail after a webmail change.
- Dated tools: long-time users call the webmail and control panel slow and old. Amen replied in August 2026 that a webmail redesign is in preparation.
Reddit Is Nearly Silent on Amen.fr
We searched Reddit posts and comments on 6 octobre 2026 and found no thread from an Amen.fr customer. That absence is itself a finding: French Reddit users rarely discuss the brand. The sister brand in Portugal fares worse. En juillet 2026 a Portuguese commenter told a buyer to leave Amen.pt before renewal. They called its prices three times the market rate and its support weak.
Phone Help in Office Hours, With Mixed Signals
Support runs by phone and ticket, and we found no live chat on amen.fr. The phone line is a Paris-region number billed as a local call. Amen states its hours four different ways, de 9:00 à 17:00 on weekdays up to “every day from 9:00 à 19:00”. Assume weekday office hours. The general terms promise free support by email from the client area, without committing to a fix or a response time. Support prioritaire, en euros 8.40 un mois, adds a callback and moves your ticket to the top of the queue.
When to Use Amen.fr
Amen fits people who want help in French and one login for everything. Price comes second for them.
- A small French business or club: le domaine, email, Microsoft 365 and site sit in one account. A real person answers a Paris-region number on weekdays.
- A .NET developer: Windows plans come with IIS remote access, Web Deploy and SQL Server 2022. You can try them free for 30 journées.
- A WordPress owner who hates updates: managed WordPress costs the same as the plain plans. It adds automatic updates and a test copy of your site.
It also works if you want a VPS you pay for month by month, avec sauvegardes incluses. And if you want to try before you pay, the free trial helps.
When NOT to Use Amen.fr
Amen gets weaker the longer you stay, and its contracts set some hard limits.
- You need your data in France: the contracts put shared hosting in Brussels. VPS plans run in a TransIP data center elsewhere in the EU.
- You budget for three years: Advanced and WordPress Business renew at 3.33 et 3.34 fois la première année, and domains at EUR 49.90.
- You buy as a business and want a refund: only consumers get 14 days to cancel by law. Renouvellements, domains and upgrades never qualify.
- Your site is busy: shared plans allow 100,000 fichiers et 2,000 e-mails par jour. Files of 100 MB or more and database queries over 15 seconds aren’t allowed.
- You need a written uptime promise: the service level agreement (SALADE) covers VPS and dedicated servers only; shared hosting has none.
Cancelling takes planning too. Card and PayPal customers must switch off auto-renewal at least 21 jours avant l'expiration. For servers in France with a refund window, o2switch fixes most of these gaps. Pour les domaines uniquement, OVHcloud costs a fraction of Amen’s renewal price.

Amen.fr Plans and Pricing
Voici la version courte. Web Hosting starts at EUR 3.54 a month on a 12-month prepay, facturé en EUR 42.50 pour la première année. WordPress hosting starts at EUR 1.85 un mois, ou EUR 22.20 pour la première année. Renewals run 1.47 à 3.34 times the first-year price, and the free domain renews at EUR 49.90 une année. Tous les prix excluent 20% TVA française, as Amen’s pages show them.
The cart offers only a one-year term for these plans. Au renouvellement, the Webhosting terms apply the catalogue price on the day you renew. We took first-year totals from Amen’s cart and renewal prices from its public price list, daté 17 décembre 2025.
| Plan | First year (Chariot) | Renews per year | Multiplier | Espace de rangement |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Démarreur d'hébergement Web | EUR 53.30 | EUR 88.80 | 1.67X | 50 GB |
| Web Hosting Advanced | EUR 42.50 | EUR 141.60 | 3.33X | 200 GB |
| Web Hosting Expert | EUR 192.70 | EUR 283.35 | 1.47X | 500 GB |
| Démarrer WordPress | EUR 40.00 | EUR 66.60 | 1.67X | 10 GB |
| Entreprise WordPress | EUR 22.20 | EUR 74.05 | 3.34X | 40 GB |
| WordPress Digital | EUR 88.00 | EUR 146.65 | 1.67X | 100 GB |
| WordPress Premium | EUR 176.85 | EUR 294.75 | 1.67X | 250 GB |
The Middle Plan Is the Trap
Amen discounts its middle tiers hardest. Web Hosting Advanced carries a 70% first-year discount and WordPress Business the same, while the other plans get 32% à 40%. So the bigger plan looks cheaper than the small one. Ce n'est pas, from year two onward.

Look at the struck-through figure under each price: Advanced is the cheapest card today and the dearest of the first two at renewal. La source: amen.fr Web Hosting page, capturé 6 octobre 2026.
Avertissement de renouvellement: Web Hosting Advanced costs EUR 42.50 for year one and renews at EUR 141.60, une 233% augmenter. WordPress Business goes from EUR 22.20 à EUR 74.05, une 234% augmenter.
From year two, Starter costs EUR 88.80 un an contre EUR 141.60 for Advanced. If one site is enough, Starter is the cheaper path, despite the higher first bill.
Renewal Prices Have Climbed Since 2023
The renewal price is a moving target too. En novembre 2023, Amen’s plans page showed renewal rates of EUR 5.75, EUR 9.17 et EUR 18.33 a month for Starter, Advanced and Expert. By January 2024 they were EUR 6.61, EUR 10.54 et EUR 21.08. Since April 2025 they have been EUR 7.40, EUR 11.80 et EUR 23.61, with Expert shown as EUR 23.62 depuis janvier 2026.

Each plan’s full price, which is also its renewal rate, at three points in time. La source: amen.fr Web Hosting page via Wayback Machine captures from 30 novembre 2023 à 16 avril 2025, lis 6 octobre 2026.
C'est un 28.7% rise on Starter and Advanced and 28.8% on Expert, in two steps of about 15% et 12%. The terms allow it: renewal follows the catalogue price on the day.
Domains and Other Costs Outside the Plan
The free domain becomes a real cost from year two. Amen’s own .fr page lists a renewal price of EUR 49.90 une année, and its price list charges the same for .com. Customers keep discovering this on Trustpilot: one paid EUR 0.61 for three domains in July 2025, puis EUR 215.80 at the July 2026 renouvellement.

The middle column is the yearly price you pay once the free first year ends. La source: amen.fr .fr domain page, capturé 6 octobre 2026.
Amen also contradicts itself on .fr registration. The .fr page says EUR 19.90, and the price list says EUR 49.90. Add a .fr renewal to Web Hosting Advanced and year two costs EUR 191.50 contre EUR 42.50 la première année, 4.51 fois autant.
Other extras: Confidentialité WHOIS (hiding your contact details from the public domain record) coûte EUR 9.00 a year as listed, on .com, .net and similar domains. Priority support costs EUR 8.40 un mois. Site and mailbox migrations are priced on request.
VPS, Windows and Dedicated Servers
The VPS range is billed monthly, so there is no first-year price cliff. VPS X2 (2 vCPU, 2 Go de RAM, 75 GB NVMe) coûte EUR 8.95 un mois, ou EUR 8.23 sur une durée de 12 mois. The smallest, VPS XS, shows EUR 4.50 a month on its card, but the cart charged EUR 4.45 pendant un mois. Automatic backups every four hours and snapshots are included.
Windows hosting starts at EUR 9.22 un mois, a promo valid for the first 12 mois seulement. Its catalogue price is EUR 122.90 une année. Dedicated Intel servers start at EUR 62.10 un mois, and AMD machines at EUR 86.95.
So is Amen.fr cheap? Pour la première année, Oui. Plus de trois ans, it costs more than its promo suggests and more than it did in 2023. It’s priced for buyers who value one French-speaking account for everything over the lowest bill.

Amen.fr Transparency Score
We graded how clearly Amen shows each kind of information, not whether the terms are fair.
- Company information: Bien. The legal name, numéro d'entreprise, owner and group are printed on the site. But the About page still quotes support figures from 2017, and the Webhosting terms carry a head office address Amen left in 2025.
- Transparence des prix: Bien. Plan cards show the struck-through catalogue price, and a dated price list exists. The cart doesn’t show the renewal price, and the .fr registration price differs between two Amen pages.
- Technical documentation: Pauvre. The data center page presents Reading as the main site and never mentions Brussels, where the contracts put shared hosting. Backup retention differs between cards and terms, and the Web Hosting page still contains Lorem Ipsum placeholder text.
- Terms and policies: Limité. The terms are dated and detailed, but the sales page “des garanties” 99.999% uptime that the Webhosting and WordPress terms don’t contain. Even the auto-renewal deadline differs: 21 days in the general terms, 20 in the Webhosting terms.
Transparence globale: Limité. The documents exist and carry dates, but the marketing and the contracts describe two different products.
Alternatives to Amen.fr
Each pick below fixes one gap: serveurs en France, cheap domains, ou un remboursement.
For Servers in France and a Refund: o2commutateur
o2switch keeps its data centers and staff in Clermont-Ferrand. It refunds within 30 journées, aucune question posée. Its Grow plan lists EUR 84.00 hors TVA la première année, avec 24/7 assistance par téléphone, email, ticket et chat. Notre o2switch review covers its renewal rules.
For Cheap Domain Renewals: OVHcloud
OVHcloud’s French catalogue renews a .fr domain for EUR 7.79 a year and a .com for EUR 13.49, both before VAT. Against Amen’s EUR 49.90, that saves EUR 42.11 a year on each .fr domain. Use it for domains, not as a renewal escape: OVHcloud’s Pro hosting costs EUR 23.88 la première année, puis EUR 119.88.
For Chat Support and a Refund Window: Infomaniak
Infomaniak hosts in Switzerland, remboursements dans 30 days and answers by email, chat et téléphone. Web hosting starts at EUR 5.75 a month as listed, more than Amen’s first year. Notre Infomaniak review covers its plans in detail.
Amen.fr holds our Average Score of 3.5 de 429 avis examinés. It’s a capable all-in-one provider with support agents customers name and thank. It’s also a host whose cheapest-looking plans renew at more than three times their first price, and whose free domain renews at EUR 49.90.
Buy Amen if you’re a small French business or a .NET developer who values one account and a Paris-region phone line. Pick Starter over Advanced if one site is enough, and note the 21-day auto-renewal deadline. Choose o2switch if your data must stay in France, and register domains at OVHcloud if renewal cost matters. Compare more options in our guide to web hosting in France.
Questions fréquemment posées
Is Amen.fr a good host for a small business website?
Oui, si tu veux un domaine, email and site in one French-language account. Support is reachable by phone on weekdays. Budget for year two, bien que, when plans cost 1.47 à 3.34 fois autant.
Why does Amen.fr cost so much more in the second year?
First-year prices carry discounts of up to 70%, and renewals follow the full catalogue price. Web Hosting Advanced goes from EUR 42.50 c'est des euros 141.60 une année. The free domain then renews at EUR 49.90.
Why do some customers call Amen.fr a trap?
Many angry reviews describe automatic renewals at much higher prices, often on domains bought for a euro or two. Others report sites deleted during plan changes in 2026. Switching off auto-renewal 21 days early avoids the first problem.
Is a .fr domain cheaper at OVHcloud than at Amen.fr?
Oui, par une large marge. OVHcloud renews a .fr for EUR 7.79 un an avant TVA. Amen lists EUR 49.90 avant TVA.
Are Amen.fr’s servers in France?
Non. Amen’s contracts place shared and WordPress hosting in Brussels, and its data center page names Reading in England as the main site. Our latency measurement found Brussels quick from France, à 9.3 ms from Lille.
Can you cancel Amen.fr and get your money back?
Consumers have 14 days to withdraw under French law, but renewals, domains and upgrades are excluded. Business customers get no refund. A 30-day free trial is the safer way to test.
