Les deux choses sont vraies, and buyers need to weigh them together.
This review is built from StableHost’s own checkout, ses conditions de service, its public status page, archived copies of its price list and 2,443 Avis sur Trustpilot. Contrairement aux critiques d'affiliation, we put the real recurring price next to the advertised one. We also count the outages StableHost logged itself, and check who owns the servers behind each advertised location.
Évaluation globale: 4.8 hors de 5 à travers 2,443 Commentaires. The strengths are responsive human support and a review corpus that nobody solicited. The common complaints are repeated price rises on existing accounts and being billed weeks before the term starts. Best suited to small cPanel sites whose owners value quick support and will budget for a doubled year two.
Dernière mise à jour: septembre 2026. Données de tarification et d'avis vérifiées.
Historical context that ages older reviews: StableHost raised the published price of its Starter plan from USD 3.50 en USD 10.59 a month between 6 avril et 24 Mai 2024, une 203% augmenter. It has raised the whole shared range twice since, reaching USD 12.71 par 3 août 2026. Any review quoting StableHost’s old USD 3.50 ou USD 5.95 entry price describes a price list that has been gone for two years.

Négociant depuis 2009, StableHost is one of the older independent-looking brands still selling cPanel hosting. Its About page puts the team at “à peu près 15 gens” and says the company is “privately owned”. That second claim is out of date, and we’ll come back to it.
Types d'hébergement proposés
- Shared hosting in Mini, Entrée, Pro and Platinum tiers, tout sur cPanel (the standard hosting control panel for managing files, courrier électronique et bases de données)
- Hébergement WordPress, which is the same Starter, Pro and Platinum plans under a different page title and at identical prices
- Dedicated servers in three fixed configurations
- Domaines, Certificats SSL, a Site.Pro website builder, an SEO tool and a consumer VPN
Principales caractéristiques mises en avant par les clients
- Un soutien qui répond: reviewers name individual agents by first name, over and over. The site claims an average response under 20 minutes, and the review record backs that up.
- LiteSpeed on shared plans: LiteSpeed is a web server that serves cached pages faster than Apache under load, and StableHost runs it across the shared fleet.
- A published renewal table: the shared hosting page prints a “12 Month Renewal Pricing” row next to the promo price. La plupart des hôtes à petit budget cachent ce numéro.
- 45-garantie satisfait ou remboursé on shared and reseller plans, qui est plus long que la norme de l'industrie 30.
- Free SSL and daily R1Soft backups on every shared tier. Read the backup terms before relying on them.
Emplacements des centres de données
Here the story gets muddy. The network page opens by saying “We offer six different locations”. Two sentences later it invites you to test “all three of our locations”. It then lists nine: Phénix, Chicago, Amsterdam, Singapour, Stockholm, Valence, Francfort, Vilnius and Turku. The shared hosting page says “Phénix, Chicago and Amsterdam Datacenters”. The checkout dropdown offers twelve, including St. Louis and San Jose, which appear nowhere in the marketing. The status page lists Madrid rather than Valencia.
We ran a whois lookup on all nine IPs StableHost publishes there. A whois lookup is a public registry query showing who holds an IP address. None of the nine is registered to StableHost. Singapore and Frankfurt belong to UpCloud, Stockholm to ilait AB, Chicago and Amsterdam to Internap, Vilnius to UAB Interneto vizija, Turku to Euronic Oy, the Phoenix block to Legaco Networks B.V., and Valencia to ProfesionalHosting, a Spanish host under the same parent group.
The company has effectively said so itself. When a customer challenged a large 2024 invoice, the reply quoted publicly on Reddit read: “our service providers have significantly raised their prices towards us, which also is something we had to consider.”
Attentes en matière de performances
No independent benchmark data was published in the last twelve months, so we used StableHost’s own incident log at status.stablehost.com. It is dated, first-party and unflattering. Critical incidents ran to one in 2023, none in 2024, four in 2025 and six in the first eight months of 2026. le 2026 list includes two St. Louis cluster outages, a client area failure, two servers going down and a domain renewal backlog.
Total incidents by year sit at 12, 13, 11 et 14. The volume is flat. The severity is not.

Trustpilot puts StableHost at 4.8 hors de 5 à travers 2,443 Commentaires. La répartition est 2,332 cinq étoiles (95.5%), 67 quatre étoiles, 4 trois étoiles, 3 deux étoiles et 37 une étoile (1.5%). Its own website advertises 4.9, which is a small overstatement of a score that needs no help.
So is a 95.5% five-star rate believable? Dans ce cas, more than usual. StableHost is not collecting invited reviews and has never run an invitation campaign. Every one of the twenty most recent reviews is marked organic, ce qui signifie que le client est allé sur Trustpilot sans y être invité. That’s the opposite of the usual pattern at this rating, where a 4.8 turns out to be a wall of solicited five-stars. Volume runs at 106 reviews in twelve months, so the corpus is live rather than frozen.
Ce que les clients louent
Soutien, almost to the exclusion of everything else. Reviewers name agents individually and repeatedly, a signal you only get when the same small team handles tickets for years. Recent titles include “Whenever I need support, Nandan always replies quickly” et “HELPING ME FOR 7+ ANNÉES”.
La longévité est le deuxième thème. Many five-star reviews open by stating how long the writer has been a customer: a decade, twelve years, fourteen. That retention is real evidence the platform stays up.
Recovery is the third. Several reviewers describe support restoring a site or mailbox they thought was lost. “I thought my website was gone forever …” is a real review title from July 2026.
Plaintes courantes
Price increases on existing accounts dominate. A customer of fourteen years wrote in May 2025 that StableHost “recently DOUBLED the price of my existing plan without notice”. Une autre, twelve years in, signalé “an almost 100% increase for the exact same hosting service” en avril 2025. Un mois de février 2026 reviewer paid 150% of the previous year’s rate.
Advance billing is second, and it is documented policy rather than a mistake. The terms reserve the right to bill 20 days before the due date. Un mois de juin 2026 reviewer worked out the consequence, “they literally charge you two months in advance”, and cancelled over it.
Refunds are third. Une marche 2025 reviewer cancelled after two days, got no refund, and recovered the money through PayPal. The terms restrict the 45-day guarantee to first-time accounts, so a returning customer has no refund window at all.
Commentaires de la communauté (Reddit & Les forums)
Reddit has less to say about this host every year. The last thread with StableHost in the title is from December 2024, and it is the most useful document in the whole corpus.
Titled “Significant price increase from Stablehost”, it explains the author paid USD 68.42 for Unlimited Pro from 2013 et USD 57 de 2020. The new invoice was USD 191.88. StableHost’s own reply, quoted in the thread: “Up until now you were paying half of the regular price for our Pro plan … we had not revised our pricing since 2020.”
Older threads are harsher. Un mois de juin 2022 r/webhosting post reported multiple StableHost WordPress sites hacked with backdoor accounts added through cPanel, and drew 23 replies. LowEndTalk’s reaction to the Miss Group purchase, sur 9 avril 2018, ran to “From Stable to Miss, what a disaster”.
Un de plus, from a single commenter in August 2025 rather than a pattern: a claim that StableHost challenges critical Trustpilot reviews as defamatory. We could not verify it, and Trustpilot shows no consumer alert on the profile.
Qualité de l'assistance
Le support technique est 24/7 by email and live chat. Sales and billing run 9am to 5pm Mountain Time. A phone number exists, listed under a PO Box with no stated hours. No reviewer we read describes resolving anything by phone.
One change worth flagging. Un mois de juin 2026 le critique a écrit: “Please don’t switch to AI support, have at least one person.” They had spent an hour with a human agent undoing what the AI did the day before. Named humans are the most praised thing about this host, so that is the trend to watch.
When to Use StableHost
There is a buyer this host fits well.
Idéal pour
Small cPanel sites that need a human on chat: the review record is unusually consistent on this. If your site breaks at 2am and you want someone to fix it rather than send you a knowledge base link, this is what StableHost sells.
People choosing a server location deliberately: twelve checkout options across the US, Europe and Singapore beats most budget hosts, whoever owns the metal underneath.
Small resellers: USD 11.65 for 20GB and ten clients with white-labelled DNS is competitive, and the reseller tiers carry no renewal jump. Voir notre comparaison d'hébergement revendeur.
Vous l'apprécierez si
- You want a 45-day window to change your mind, because most hosts give 30
- You want to see the renewal price before you buy, because StableHost prints it
- You are hosting in the US and want a choice of Phoenix, Chicago, St. Louis or San Jose
When NOT to Use StableHost
Aucun hôte ne convient à tout le monde. StableHost is the wrong choice if:
Regardez ailleurs si
Vous avez besoin d'un serveur dédié: USD 145 un mois pour un 2014 dual-core Pentium with 4GB of RAM and spinning disks is not competitive in 2026. Notre comparaison de serveur dédié lists machines with sixteen times the memory for a third of that.
You need a managed VPS: the servers ship unmanaged with no control panel, and the managed add-on costs more than three times the entry server. Comparez avec notre Guide d'hébergement VPS avant de s'engager.
You budget in fixed monthly amounts: three price rises in twenty-seven months, and a documented policy of billing 20 jours plus tôt, make this a hard host to forecast.
Drapeaux rouges pour votre situation
- You rely on the host’s backups: plans advertise daily R1Soft backups. The terms then remove any account over 100,000 inodes from the backup system, an inode being one file. The same plans allow 150,000 à 500,000 des dossiers. On Pro you can hold 250,000 files legitimately and be silently unbacked from file 100,001.
- You run a mailbox-heavy site: plans sell unlimited mailboxes, and the acceptable use policy separately bans using a web hosting account “for E-mail hosting/E-mail archiving”.
- You want an enforceable uptime promise: le SLA (Accord de niveau de service, l'engagement contractuel de disponibilité) est 99.9%. Credit is “at the discretion of StableHost” and third-party monitoring reports are explicitly not accepted as evidence. Uptime is defined as what the operating system and the Apache web server report, on a platform marketed as LiteSpeed.
- You might dispute a charge: the chargeback fee is USD 150.

StableHost Plans and Pricing
All prices below were read from StableHost’s live checkout on 8 septembre 2026, en USD. It also bills in EUR and SEK.
⚠️ Avertissement de renouvellement: the homepage banner reads “Avoir 50% à l'arrêt (première année)”. In the checkout, that same code registers as a 50% One Time Discount. Pick 12-month billing and it halves year one. Pick monthly billing and it halves a single invoice. Starter at the advertised USD 6.35 devient USD 12.71 in month two. That’s a 2.00x jump either way, just on very different timetables.
Hébergement partagé
Mini: USD 1.58/mo first term, renews at USD 2.11/mo (1.34X). 5Disque Go, 500Trafic en GB, 3 boîtes aux lettres, pas de base de données. Facturation annuelle uniquement.
Entrée: USD 6.35/mo first term, renews at USD 12.71/mo (2.00X). Un site Web, unlimited disk and bandwidth.
Pro: USD 10.06/mo first term, renews at USD 20.13/mo (2.00X). Sites Web illimités. The cart confirms USD 120.77 aujourd'hui, puis USD 241.55 chaque année après.
Platine: USD 46.51/mo, no discount offered, so no renewal jump either. Fifty accounts per server instead of five hundred.
Prepaying saves nothing on shared plans. Starter costs USD 12.71/mo monthly, USD 12.72 trimestriel, USD 12.74 semi-annually and USD 12.71 annuellement. Six-month billing is three cents a month worse than paying monthly.
Hébergement VPS
À partir de: USD 12.18/mo advertised. The checkout tells a different story: USD 13.30/mo on monthly billing, et USD 12.18 only on a 12-month term (USD 146.15 à l'avant). The advertised price never says a year is required.
The line runs from 1GB RAM at USD 13.30 to 16GB at USD 145.69, all unmanaged with no control panel. Managed support with cPanel is an add-on from USD 42.39/mo, lequel est 3.2 times the entry server itself.
Both VPS coupons the page advertises are broken. VPSCLOUD75OFF returns “The promotion code entered has expired”. VPSCLOUD20OFF validates but discounts USD 0.00 sur facturation mensuelle; it only pays out on the 12-month term, taking the first year to USD 116.92.
Serveurs dédiés
À partir de: USD 145/mo for a 2-core Intel Pentium G3450, 4GB RAM and two 300GB SAS drives, SAS being enterprise spinning disks rather than SSDs. The G3450 launched on 1 Mai 2014.
Neither of the other two is fresher. Prime en USD 165 uses a Xeon E3-1240L v3 from Q2 2014, Ultimate at USD 245 a Xeon E5-2603 v3 from Q3 2014. Three 22nm parts from one year, all on spinning disks, on a page promising “state-of-the-art web hosting solutions”.
Revendeur Hébergeur
Basic USD 11.65/mo for 20GB and 10 clients, Pro USD 23.31 for 40GB and 50 clients, Plus USD 34.97 for 60GB and 100 clients. No promotional pricing is offered, so these are the recurring rates.
Coûts cachés à surveiller
- SSH access on shared plans: USD 3.50 une fois
- Retrieving a backup from a cancelled or suspended account: USD 35.00
- Frais de rétrofacturation: USD 150.00
- Late fee once an invoice is 9 days overdue: USD 2.00
- Free domain applies only to 12-month shared plans; domain renewals are non-refundable
- Free migration only within 30 jours d'inscription, and only cPanel to cPanel
Verdict sur les prix
This host is honest about its renewal prices and evasive about its promo. Publishing a renewal table is genuinely rare and worth credit. Calling a one-time coupon “50% à l'arrêt (première année)” n'est pas. That same banner read “50% à l'arrêt (first invoice)” en décembre 2023, so the wording got looser as the prices got higher.

StableHost Transparency Score
We assess how upfront StableHost is with information a buyer needs.
- Informations sur la société: Pauvre. La page À propos dit “We’re privately owned”. StableHost was in fact bought by Sweden’s Miss Group, whose corporate finance adviser announced the deal on 5 Mars 2018. The words Miss Group appear nowhere on stablehost.com. Three places are given for the company: a PO Box in Tulsa, Oklahoma on the contact page, “We are based in Phoenix, Arizona” in the reseller FAQ, and Florida law and arbitration in the terms.
- Transparence des prix: Bien. A published renewal table is better than most of the market manages. It’s undercut twice: by a banner calling a one-time coupon a first-year discount, and by VPS pricing that shows the annual rate without saying a year is required.
- Documentation technique: Limité. Server memory is stated as 32GB, 36GB and 96GB on different pages of the same site. Location counts run three, six, nine and twelve. The reseller page still advertises PHP 5.3 à travers 7.0, all long past end of life, plus Perl 5.8.8 de 2006. The network is “200Gbit / s” on the homepage while the plan table offers 2Gbit/s of DDoS protection.
- termes & Politiques: Limité. The 45-day guarantee is stated plainly. Two sentences later the same section says VPS servers have a 7-day guarantee and then says there are no refunds on VPS servers at all.
Transparence globale: mixte, and consistently so. StableHost is straight about what things cost to renew, and evasive about who it is, where it runs and what it will honour.
Alternatives to StableHost
If StableHost doesn’t fit, ces trois-là comblent ses lacunes spécifiques.
For a Price That Doesn’t Move: InterServeur
The 2.00x renewal is mild by industry standards. The three list price rises since April 2024 are not. InterServer sells a price lock at USD 7.00/mo with no future increases, the direct answer to that complaint, and appears in our comparaison d'hébergement mutualisé.
For Dedicated Hardware From This Decade: Hetzner
Four gigabytes of RAM on a 2014 desktop Pentium costs USD 145 a month here. In our dedicated server roundup, Hetzner’s entry machine lands near USD 43 a month with 64GB of RAM and nearly four terabytes of storage. That comparison is not close.
For Managed WordPress Instead of Rebranded Shared: Any Real WordPress Host
StableHost’s WordPress hosting is its shared hosting under a different page title, at the same prices, with no staging and no managed updates. For the real thing, voir notre guide d'hébergement WordPress géré.
Cette 4.8 hors de 5 is earned the hard way, on unsolicited reviews from customers who stayed a decade. La réputation du support est réelle.
L'essentiel
Avec 4.8 à travers 2,443 Commentaires, StableHost delivers support that people write in about unprompted. It charges for that with a price list that has moved three times since April 2024. Buy the shared plans on a 12-month term, budget for double in year two, et tu seras probablement heureux. Buy the dedicated or VPS lines and you’re paying 2026 money for 2014 Matériel.
Le résumé honnête: a good small shared host wrapped in marketing that drifted away from the facts. Check the renewal table, ignore the banner, and read section 6 of the terms before assuming you can get your money back.
Pour plus d'options, voir notre comparaison d'hébergement mutualisé, where the flat-renewal alternatives are ranked.
Questions fréquemment posées
Is StableHost good for beginners?
Oui, avec une mise en garde. Vous obtenez cPanel, a one-click installer for over 400 applications, free SSL and a support team reviewers praise by name. La mise en garde est le prix. Beginners buy on the advertised figure, and that figure doubles.
Is StableHost worth the price?
En USD 6.35 for the first year of Starter, Oui. At the USD 12.71 renouvellement, it’s mid-market for a plan hosting one website. Mini at USD 2.11 is better value, rising only 34%. Just remember Mini has no database, so no WordPress.
De quoi les clients se plaignent-ils le plus ??
Price increases on existing accounts, par une large marge. Long-term customers report their bills doubling with little notice, some after ten years or more. Second is billing: StableHost’s terms let it charge 20 days before the term starts, which reviewers describe as paying two months ahead. Third is refunds, which are limited to first-time accounts.
How does StableHost compare to other budget hosts?
Its 2.00x renewal is gentler than most budget hosts, which commonly run 3x to 5x. Its review record is cleaner, because it is organic rather than invited. The weakness is hardware. Almost no competitor still sells 2014 processors with spinning disks at USD 145 un mois.
Is StableHost good for WordPress?
It runs WordPress fine on LiteSpeed with a one-click install. Mais le “Hébergement WordPress” page sells the same Starter, Pro and Platinum plans at identical prices. There is no staging, no managed updates and no WordPress-specific tier. Treat it as ordinary shared hosting that happens to run WordPress well.
Does StableHost offer refunds?
Shared and reseller plans carry a 45-day money-back guarantee, longer than the usual 30. Three conditions apply. It covers first-time accounts only, domains and add-ons are excluded, and the VPS clause contradicts itself. It promises 7 days in one sentence and no refunds at all in the next. Chargebacks carry a USD 150 frais, so resolve disputes through support.
