Serverion sells more product lines than most hosts three times its size. That’s the first thing you notice, and it’s a mixed signal.

A company with roughly 3,000 clients professionnels, the figure its new owner published in 2024, is spread across more than twenty product lines. Some look untended. The masternode plans and Atlassian stacks read like they were priced in 2019 and never revisited.

Serverion doesn’t own most of these buildings, and says so: “we have opted for different data centers from different providers”. That reseller and colocation model is normal enough. What’s odd is that the count changes depending on which page you read.

The homepage links to “all our 37 datacenter locations”. The VPS page says “36 sites dans le monde” et des listes 35. The dedicated page says “36 different locations” et des listes 38. The names also carry spelling errors that have sat there for years: “Reykjavic”, “Barcalona”, “Tunesia”, “Warschau” for Warsaw. Cape Town and Johannesburg are both filed under the country “Afrique”.

No independent benchmark data for Serverion was found: no third-party speed tests, no outside uptime reports. So we looked at the hardware instead, since the specifications are public.

We parsed all 205 orderable dedicated server configurations on Serverion’s own page. Ils utilisent 67 distinct Intel Xeon models. Not one is newer than 2018. The newest are Xeon Gold 6148 and Silver 4114, Intel’s first-generation Scalable chips from July 2017, plus the Xeon E-2176G from mid-2018. There’s no AMD EPYC anywhere, and nothing from Intel’s second-generation Scalable line or later.

At the other end, Serverion still sells a Xeon L5420 in Seattle, a processor Intel launched in the first quarter of 2008. A Xeon X3450 in Paris dates to 2009. The homepage stock list goes further and offers an Intel Core i7 950, a consumer desktop chip from 2009, as a dedicated server.

The VPS side is just as dated. Every VPS Basic plan runs a Xeon E5-2650, every VPS Pro an E5-2680, and the UK nodes an E5-2637 v4. Intel discontinued the whole E5 line in 2017 when Xeon Scalable replaced it.

Is old silicon automatically bad? Non. UNE 2012 Xeon still serves a low-traffic site perfectly well. But you should know what you’re renting, and compare it against what the same money buys in 2026, where AMD EPYC and Ryzen are standard at this price.

The review record here is unusual enough that the average score misleads you. Serverion holds 3.9/5 à travers 103 Avis sur Trustpilot. The average also hides its age. Serverion has received no Trustpilot reviews at all in the past 12 mois. The most recent is dated 15 août 2024, and the profile has stopped collecting. Support speed and personal attention dominate the positive reviews. One customer writes that “Desmond and his team always go above and beyond. They provide lightning fast support”. Desmond van der Winden is Serverion’s CEO, which tells you the scale of operation you’re dealing with.

Reliability comes up repeatedly from long-term customers. A Ukrainian reviewer using two data centers reported “best service fast support 100% online time”. A Nigerian customer wrote that all their servers had run “more than year without issues”.

Plaintes courantes

Support disappearing is the top complaint, which is striking given that support is also the top praise. A Moroccan buyer in August 2024 described buying a server then waiting: “7 days no reply i open 3 ticket to support to sale to techn no respond i cal, them on us line always no respond”. A French customer in September 2023 ordered a VPS on Tuesday evening and still had nothing by Saturday afternoon.

Provisioning delay is the related theme. Serverion advertises immediate activation, but the VPS complaints describe waits of days.

The dates tell their own story. Positive reviews cluster in 2020 et 2021, quand 29 de 36 were 5-star. Par 2022 the split was 11 positive to 14 négatif. Dans 2023 it was 4 à 7. Sentiment turned over, and then the reviews stopped altogether.

Un décembre 2022 thread in r/webhosting titled “Serverion persistent spam” describes the pattern: “I’ll block one of their /24 and a week or two later more spam but from a different variety of IPs in the new /24.” Another administrator suggested pulling Serverion’s whole ASN and blocking it on a cron job “as they change IP blocks frequently”. On the industry forum LowEndTalk, a thread carries the title “Spam/Phishing Host as a Business Model – Serverion (point)avec”.

This part is checkable rather than just opinion. Spamhaus publishes ASN-DROP, une “do not route or peer” advisory listing networks it observes “to have been hijacked or leased by professional spam or cyber-crime operations”. Sur 19 août 2026 that global list held 435 entrées. Six are registered to serverion.com: AS56584, AS210654, AS213035, AS213753, AS399471 and AS400377. Only four domains worldwide carry more listings than that.

There’s a documented incident too. En juin 2023 the fractureiser malware spread through infected Minecraft mods on CurseForge and BukkitDev. The investigation team’s technical write-up records that the main payload server was hosted on Serverion, and that it was taken down.

Two things need saying in fairness. Almost none of this comes from Serverion customers; it comes from administrators of other networks. And any host reselling capacity in dozens of locations at low prices will attract abuse. Serverion publishes an acceptable use policy and an abuse address.

But the consequence lands on you, not on Serverion. If your server sits in address space that mail providers and corporate firewalls block wholesale, your legitimate email gets blocked with it. That’s the risk to weigh.

Serverion offers email and telephone support. There’s no live chat anywhere on the site, and the support page is a list of nine links stating no hours, no channels and no response times.

The response times live on the SLA page instead. The default tier, Niveau 0, costs nothing and commits Serverion to a 24-hour response with zero hands-on hours. Niveau 1 en euros 49.00 a month buys an 8-hour response, Niveau 2 en euros 99.00 achète 4 heures, Niveau 3 en euros 149.00 achète 2 heures.

So when the homepage promises round-the-clock service, the contractual floor underneath it is a one-day reply. That explains the complaints about silence better than anything else. Those customers were getting what they paid for.

When to Use Serverion

Serverion is a reasonable choice in specific situations:

Buyers who need a server in an unusual city: Anchorage, Lagos, Tunisie, Muscat, Medellin, Lima and Cape Town are hard to find on any single order form. If you need presence in one of those markets and don’t need current hardware, Serverion solves a problem most hosts won’t.

Technical users who want cheap bulk compute: A dual Xeon with 32 GB of RAM at EUR 50.00 a month is cheap for lab work or batch processing, where core count and memory matter more than per-core speed.

Colocation customers in the Netherlands: Colocation is priced clearly, à partir d'EUR 35.00 a month for 1U up to EUR 550.00 for a full rack, with published rates for power, remote hands and bandwidth. That transparency beats the rest of the catalogue.

You send email that matters: C'est le grand. Six Serverion autonomous systems sit on the Spamhaus DROP list, which advises networks not to route their traffic at all. Newsletters, transactional email, invoices and password resets from a server in that address space face a real risk of being blocked before anyone sees them. If email delivery is part of your business, host it somewhere else.

Current hardware is the point of buying a server: Nothing in the 205-configuration dedicated catalogue is newer than 2018, and there’s no AMD EPYC at all. For a database, a busy application server, or anything where response time is the product, that’s a real limitation.

Shared hosting is what you came for: The entry plan gives you 0.5 Go de disque et 5 Go de trafic mensuel. The advertised PHP choices are 5.6 et 7.2. WordPress recommends PHP 8.3 ou plus grand.

A firm uptime guarantee matters to you: Serverion’s terms say plainly that it “offers no guarantees” on availability unless you buy a separate SLA. Serverion Plans and Pricing

Serverion’s pricing has one genuinely good property and several confusing ones. The good one first.

Pas de choc de renouvellement: Serverion doesn’t run the promo-then-double game. Its published price list shows one price per product, and that’s what you keep paying. We checked archived copies from August 2019, Mars 2021, janvier 2023 et décembre 2025. Every figure is identical. Webhosting Small has been EUR 30.00 per year for seven years running.

⚠️ Watch instead: Serverion’s terms let it raise your price 4% every year automatically. Article 4.4 lit: “Without the possibility of canceling the Client, being the company, Serverion has the right to increase all prices that have been agreed with the Client by 4% each year on 1 January.” Read that clause carefully. Business customers get the rise and are explicitly denied the right to cancel over it. Most hosts word an indexation clause the other way round.

Prices below are in EUR, because that’s what Serverion charges. The price list never says whether Dutch VAT of 21% is included or added at checkout.

Now look at what you get. The Small plan is 0.5 Go de disque et 5 GB of traffic per month. Not per day. UNE 3 MB page would exhaust that allowance in about 1,700 views. The Large plan at EUR 10.00 te donne 5 Go de disque, where Dutch rival TransIP sells 20 Go pour EUR 9.99.

All four plans list “PHP 5.6 and PHP 7.2” as the versions you can select. PHP 5.6 stopped receiving security fixes on 31 décembre 2018, PHP 7.2 sur 30 novembre 2020. That feature box has sat unchanged since at least 19 août 2019, so the servers may well run something newer and nobody updated the page. D'une manière ou d'une autre, demandez avant d'acheter.

C'est un 50% spread with no explanation of which one binds. And the cheapest advertised VPS on the site, EUR 10.00 à Londres, is a much smaller machine: 1 coeur, 512 Mo de RAM, 20 GB of SATA disk.

The dedicated range climbs to EUR 6,500.00 un mois. Contracts are monthly. The price list and the product page describe two different catalogues again. The price list shows generic entries like “1x Xeon Quad” en euros 75.00, while the product page names real chip models at different prices.

Verdict sur les prix

Priced against 2019 concurrents, Serverion is reasonable. Priced against 2026 concurrents, the shared plans are poor value on storage and the servers are expensive for their age. The absence of renewal shock is real and worth something. But a price that never moves for seven years, on hardware that also never moves, is not the bargain it looks like.

Serverion Transparency Score

We assess how upfront Serverion is with the information a buyer needs:

• Informations sur la société: Limité. The Brielle address, the Delaware office and the 2015 founding date are all published. But eKomi Holding GmbH announced its acquisition of Serverion B.V. sur 1 juillet 2024. Two years on, Serverion’s own company-information page still calls it “a privately owned Dutch company” avec “holding company Blue Lemon B.V.” No Chamber of Commerce number or VAT number appears anywhere.

Serverion earns a qualified 3.9/5 from customers and a 2.2/5 from a smaller, harsher sample. Both are right about different things, which is why the score alone won’t help you decide.

Serverion is a small company selling old equipment on a network with a reputation problem it hasn’t solved. Support gets praised by the customers who reach it and cursed by the ones who don’t. The free tier’s 24-hour response window explains most of that gap. The pricing is flat and fair, which is rare and worth respecting.

Buy it if you need a cheap server in Anchorage or Lagos, you understand you’re renting 2012 Matériel, and nothing you run depends on outbound email arriving. Don’t buy it for shared hosting, for anything performance-sensitive, or for a business that sends mail to customers.

One more thing that should shape how you read every other Serverion review you find: eKomi Holding GmbH acquired Serverion B.V. sur 1 juillet 2024, and Serverion’s own site still hasn’t said so. Reviews that describe Serverion as an independent Dutch company are describing a structure that changed two years ago.

Non. Serverion has no live chat, and the free support tier promises a reply within 24 heures. Serverion is a real, registered Dutch company and its customers’ servers work. The concern is IP reputation, pas de fraude. Six autonomous systems registered to serverion.com appear on Spamhaus ASN-DROP, a list of networks that Spamhaus advises others not to route. That means email and traffic from your server may be blocked by third parties. Weigh that against your use case.

Does Serverion offer refunds?
