ActiveGameHost sold game servers from 2016 until late 2023, and never stopped being an ARK specialist. Everything below is recovered from archived copies of its own pages, because the live ones are gone.

By March 2023 the catalogue held 14 jogos. Survival titles led: ARCA: Sobrevivência Evoluída, Valheim, Ferrugem, 7 Dias para morrer, Conan Exiles and DayZ. The rest were Space Engineers, PixArk, Dark and Light, Citadel, Miscreated, Rend, Outlaws of the Old West and Atlas. Atlas was already marked “Out Of stock”.

Look at that list closely. It’s a museum of 2015 para 2019 survival games. Minecraft, which they sold in 2016, had been dropped. ARCA: Sobrevivência Ascensionada, released on 25 Outubro 2023, was never added.

Hardware was described only in ranges: 64GB to 320GB of RAM, e 8 to 40-plus CPU cores. You couldn’t tell which you’d land on.

Support speed dominates the positive reviews. A frase “never too busy” recurs, and several customers mention help late at night. Um 2023 reviewer had a server running in under five minutes.

Fifteen of the 109 reviews we read scored one or two stars, and they cluster tightly around three problems.

File transfers broke, repetidamente. FTP is File Transfer Protocol, the standard way to upload mod files to a server. Reviewers describe it failing on the wrong port, and describe being locked out by automatic IP bans while trying to install mods. Um 2021 customer wrote that installing mods was “imposible with it banning the ip”.

Advanced users found the control panel limiting. Complaints name missing configuration file import and export, a thin settings page, and no explanation of what each setting did. One December 2021 reviewer went further and called the panel “unsecured”, though no detail was given and we can’t verify that.

Billing and refunds went wrong. Um dezembro 2021 customer had their service cancelled immediately and still hadn’t received a refund when they wrote. Um fevereiro 2022 customer had their account disabled over PayPal automatic payments. They’d been told to arrange those outside the company’s own site.

There’s a pattern in the timing. The one and two-star share was 14% of reviews in 2020, then jumped to 26% no 2021, before the review flow dried up. Whatever went wrong at ActiveGameHost, 2021 is where it starts showing in the data.

ActiveGameHost’s community footprint is thin, and most of it was written by the company. Posts in r/ARK_pc and r/playrustservers are self-promotion, written in the first person plural. We found no LowEndTalk discussion at all.

When to Use ActiveGameHost

There Is No Current Use Case

There’s no scenario in 2026 where ActiveGameHost is the right answer. The order forms are gone, the client area returns a 404 erro, and no billing or control panel subdomain resolves. Nobody can take your payment and nobody will answer a ticket.

If You Were a Customer

You want a meaningful trial window: the money-back guarantee ran three days. The 24-hour free trial softened that, but three days is thin if a problem surfaces in week two.

Red Flags Worth Recognising

• Contradictory uptime claims: a host quoting 100%, 99.99% e “over 99%” on one page hasn’t measured any of them.

• A catalogue of dead games: Rend, Miscreated and Citadel had lost their players years before 2023, yet all three stayed on the menu.

We assess how upfront ActiveGameHost was, using its own archived pages.
