Best Free Logo Makers (2026) – 12 Tools and What They Really Charge - FR

Three logo makers that filledbest free logo makerlists a few years ago no longer exist. One was bought and switched off. One quietly dropped the tool from its own website. One 404s on every URL we could find for it. The survivors mostly kept the word “gratuit” and moved the price to the download button.

Réponse rapide: Namecheap Logo Maker wins. It’s the only tool here that hands you a finished PNG and SVG for zero, with no watermark and no upsell. Wixel, the renamed Wix Logo Maker, comes second with free SVG export. If you’ll pay for a full brand kit, Looka Premium at USD 65 is the strongest paid option. Avoid Canva for logos: its free plan can’t export SVG or a transparent PNG.

Dernière révision: septembre 2026. Prices and file formats verified on each provider’s own pages.

How We Selected These Logo Makers

We started with a status check, not a feature comparison. Every tool on the previous version of this list got a live URL test in August 2026. Three failed. Rather than delete them quietly, we documented what happened to each one.

For the survivors, the test was narrow and deliberately unkind. What file do you hold in your hand after you stop paying? A logo you can’t export as vector is a logo you’ll pay a designer to redraw. That bill lands the first time you order signage or a vehicle wrap.

So we scored each tool on four things, weighted in this order. Première, whether a usable file is reachable without payment. Usable means vector, or high-resolution PNG with a transparent background. Deuxième, the real price of the vector file, counting add-ons sold separately at checkout. La troisième, what the provider publishes about ownership and licensing in its own words. Quatrième, facilité d'utilisation, which counts least because every tool here is easy enough.

We excluded any new candidate that publishes neither pricing nor a file format list. Tools already on the list stayed regardless of how they scored.

One thing we didn’t do: rank the designs. “Is this logo goodisn’t a measurable property, and anyone who says otherwise is selling something. So when we say one tool beats another below, it’s on price, file formats or licensing terms. Those three we could actually check.

Prices come from each provider’s own pricing page, read in a real browser. Several inject their prices with JavaScript and hand simpler tools a blank page. A few also price in the visitor’s local currency (some showed us euros no matter what we tried). We flag those in the section itself.

Wixel (Wix Logo Maker) – Best free SVG export

The Wix Logo Maker you remember doesn’t exist under that name any more. Visit wix.com/logo/maker today and the page loads under a different brand: Wixel. It’s an AI design platform covering images, vidéo, presentations and documents. The logo maker is one tool inside it.

What changed isn’t the name. The old Wix Logo Maker ran the standard playbook: design free, payer en USD 20 en USD 50 to download. Wixel doesn’t. Its pricing page lists Downloads in any quality and format under what’s always included. Downloads aren’t what the paid plans sell. Credits are. Credits get consumed by AI generation and AI editing, not by exporting a file you already made.

Vous obtenez 120 AI credits a month on the free plan, plafonné à 30 par jour. Wix estimates that at around 20 logos. Manual customisation costs nothing at all. Changing colours, polices, icons and layout by hand never touches your credit balance. So the smart route is simple: spend a few credits generating starting points, edit by hand for free, then export SVG.

Against the paid tools that’s a hard offer to argue with. Looka charges USD 65 for the same SVG file. Designhill charges USD 65 for it too. Wixel charges nothing. Paid Wixel plans run USD 90/year for Basic, USD 290/year for Pro and USD 590/year for Max, buying 350, 850 et 2,000 credits a month. You only need one if you’re generating a lot of AI assets across the wider platform.

One caveat Wix states plainly on its own page. The icons and fonts are licensed for commercial use, but design elements are not exclusive to you. They stay available to every other Wixel user. That’s true of nearly every tool here. Wix just says it out loud.

Avantages

  • SVG and high-resolution PNG export at zero cost
  • Manual editing consumes no credits
  • 120 free AI credits per month, renewed monthly
  • Commercial licensing stated clearly on the page

Les inconvénients

  • Daily cap of 30 credits slows heavy generation
  • Design elements are shared with all other users
  • The rebrand makes older tutorials confusing to follow

Meilleur pour: anyone who wants a vector logo without paying and doesn’t need exclusivity.

Ignorer si: you need an icon nobody else can use.

Verdict: Take Wixel if you want a free vector logo and you’re comfortable inside a Wix account. Want the same thing without a daily cap and a credit system to think about? Namecheap does it more simply, also for free. If exclusivity is the real requirement, no free tool solves it, and you should be reading Logogenie’s USD 144 exclusive option instead.

Marques sur mesure – Best if you also need an LLC

Start with what you can’t find on the site: a price for a logo. Tailorbrands.com/pricing redirects to a page titledLLC Plans and Pricing”. Every plan on it is a company formation package. Lite is USD 0 plus state fees, Essential is USD 199/year, Elite is USD 249/year. Le mot “logo” appears once in those feature lists, comme “8 free logosinside a bundle calledOnline business and branding tools”.

Tailor Brands launched as a logo maker. Dans 2026 it’s a business formation service that happens to include one. The pricing page reflects that shift completely. You won’t learn what a logo costs until you’ve designed one and reached checkout.

The company does answer the ownership question directly in its logo maker FAQ. The answer is the familiar split: “You can make a logo for free and download a low-resolution version. toutefois, if you want a high-res Vector file, you will need to pay.” Trademarking is offered as a service, and in their words it costs extra on top.

So how does the bundle compare? Essential at USD 199/year is 2.07 times Looka’s USD 96/year Brand Kit subscription. Looka’s price buys logo files and brand assets only. The difference is LLC filing, compliance reminders, a bookkeeping trial and business coaching. Need those? USD 199 est raisonnable. Need only a logo? You’re paying USD 199/year for something Namecheap gives away.

The design tool itself is competent. It drives the design from a brand questionnaire rather than a grid of templates. That was never the problem. The problem is that the logo is no longer the product.

Avantages

  • Strong AI questionnaire produces usable first drafts
  • Full commercial rights stated after purchase
  • Création de SARL, compliance and branding in one account
  • Editor stays available for later changes

Les inconvénients

  • No published logo price anywhere on the site
  • Free download is low resolution only
  • Trademark filing costs extra on top of the plan

Meilleur pour: US founders forming an LLC who want branding in the same checkout.

Ignorer si: you already have a company and only need artwork.

Verdict: Buy Tailor Brands if you’re forming a US LLC this month and value one vendor over two. Everyone else is overpaying for a logo bolted to services they won’t touch. Looka delivers a comparable brand kit for USD 96/year, and Wixel delivers the vector file for nothing.

Rechercher – Best paid brand kit

USD 20. That’s Looka’s entry price. What it buys is worth spelling out, because the pricing page spells it out too: one low-resolution PNG file. Not a set. Not a transparent version. One file.

The tier that produces a usable brand asset is the Premium Logo Package at USD 65, une fois. That covers PNG, PSE, SVG and PDF, plus multiple colour variations with transparent backgrounds, unlimited changes after purchase, full ownership and lifetime technical support. Treat USD 65 as Looka’s real price and the USD 20 tier as a decoy. The product reads much better that way.

Two subscriptions sit above the one-time packages. Brand Kit is USD 96/year and adds social profiles, business cards, email signatures, letterheads, invoices, brand guidelines and roughly 300 branded assets. Brand Kit Web is USD 129/year and adds an AI-generated website. Looka commits to something most subscription products don’t: “Full ownership of your logo, even after your subscription ends“. Your logo isn’t hostage to the renewal.

One thing we won’t tell you is whether Looka’s designs look nicer than a rival’s. That’s a judgment call, and we didn’t test it. The file list and the ownership terms we did check, and both hold up.

Whether it’s worth USD 65 depends entirely on your comparison. Designhill charges USD 65 for an almost identical feature list, so those two cancel out. Contre Namecheap, which delivers PNG and SVG free, Looka has to justify USD 65 on design quality alone. For a business printing the logo on a storefront, that can be money well spent. For a side project, ce n'est pas.

Avantages

  • Four formats in one package: PNG, PSE, SVG, PDF
  • Ownership survives subscription cancellation
  • Unlimited post-purchase edits on Premium
  • Brand kit includes 300+ branded assets

Les inconvénients

  • USD 20 tier delivers a single low-resolution PNG
  • No free download at any level
  • Brand Kit renews annually at USD 96

Meilleur pour: a funded business that wants a designed-looking mark and a full asset set on day one.

Ignorer si: your branding budget is zero.

Verdict: Pay Looka USD 65 when design quality is the thing you actually care about. Don’t pay Looka USD 20, which buys a file you can’t use properly. If the budget is zero, Namecheap gives you PNG and SVG for nothing, and the output is respectable.

Canva – Best design tool, worst free logo maker

Canva is the most capable design application here. It’s also the one to be most careful with for logos. The reason sits in Canva’s own help centre, in a sentence about download limits. Options restricted to Pro, Les équipes, Affaires, Education and Nonprofit plans includedownloading with a transparent background, downloading your design as an SVG“.

Read that against what a logo needs. It needs a transparent background, so it can sit on a coloured header. It needs vector, so it scales from a favicon to a trade show banner. Canva’s free plan withholds both. What you can export free is a logo on a solid rectangle at fixed resolution. That’s not a logo so much as a picture of one.

Everything else about the free plan is generous. Vous obtenez 1.6 million templates, 4.7 million stock assets, 5 Go de stockage et 1,000+ design types. There’s one brand kit, limited to three colours. On library size alone it dwarfs everything else on this page. As a logo maker it fails the only two tests that matter.

Canva Pro costs EUR 110/year on Canva’s own pricing page, with Business at EUR 170/year. Those are the prices shown to a European visitor, and they vary by region. Pro runs 3.2 times Fotor’s EUR 33.99/year plan, and it earns the premium. Canva Pro exports SVG. Fotor doesn’t export SVG at any tier at all.

One more trap on the free plan. Use premium elements and Canva asks you to pay at download, buy a one-off Pro Content licence, or accept a watermarked draft. It’s easy to build something you love and only meet the charge at export.

Avantages

  • Best editor and template library in this comparison
  • Pro exports SVG, transparent PNG and print-ready CMYK
  • Free plan is unusually generous for general design work
  • Files stay editable in your account indefinitely

Les inconvénients

  • No SVG or transparent PNG sur le forfait gratuit
  • Premium elements trigger a charge at download
  • Templates are heavily reused across millions of users

Meilleur pour: someone who’ll keep designing social posts, decks and flyers after the logo is done.

Ignorer si: the logo is all you need and you don’t want a subscription.

Verdict: Subscribe to Canva Pro when design work is a regular part of your week. Then the logo is a free side effect of a tool you’d buy anyway. Don’t use Canva’s free plan for a logo. It can’t export the two file properties a logo requires, and Wixel exports both for nothing.

Shopify Logo MakerBest free tool for a store

Designhill charges USD 20 for a low-resolution file. Looka charges USD 20 for a single PNG. Shopify charges nothing at all. There’s no paid tier and no download gate.

You may know it as Hatchful. That brand is gone. Visit hatchful.shopify.com and a redirect drops you at shopify.com/tools/logo-maker. The Hatchful name appears nowhere on the destination page, which we checked in August 2026. Même outil, new address, still free. Plenty of guides still send readers to the old name.

The current version leans on AI. Enter a brand name, answer a few prompts about industry and style, and finished marks come back for you to adjust. Output skews toward ecommerce conventions. That’s exactly right if you’re opening a store, and slightly generic if you’re not.

Now the honest limitation, et c'est un vrai. Shopify publishes no file format list and no licensing terms on that page. Every other free tool here tells you what you’re getting. Squarespace says PNG with transparent background. Namecheap says PNG and SVG. Wix says any quality and format. Shopify saysready to use anywhereand stops. You find out what lands in your downloads folder by downloading it.

For a Shopify merchant that’s a small risk. The logo will live inside a Shopify theme, where a PNG is fine. If you’re planning print work, bien que, that missing format list should push you toward a tool that commits to SVG in writing.

Avantages

  • Completely free with no download gate
  • No paid tier exists above it, du tout
  • Vite, with no account friction to start
  • Integrates cleanly with a Shopify storefront

Les inconvénients

  • No published file formats or licensing terms
  • Style range is narrow outside ecommerce
  • Old Hatchful links and tutorials cause confusion

Meilleur pour: a new Shopify store that needs a mark today and won’t print it on anything.

Ignorer si: you need a documented vector file for signage or packaging.

Verdict: Use Shopify Logo Maker when you’re launching a store and the logo needs to be good enough rather than permanent. If it’ll end up on printed packaging, pick Namecheap instead. That one is also free and commits to SVG in writing.

Logogenie – Best if you want exclusivity, at a price

Imaginez ceci. Vous avez payé en USD 24.90, downloaded your logo and launched. Six months later a competitor across town picks the same icon from the same template library, because nobody ever removed it. Logogenie is the only tool here that sells a fix, and it prices that fix openly.

The base product is the Standard Logo Pack at USD 24.90. That covers high-definition web and print files with transparent versions. Then comes a menu of add-ons that changes the real cost a lot. Vector formats cost USD 14.40, and that one deserves a closer look. The Standard pack’s own feature bullet lists “JPG, PNG, PDF, Formats de fichier SVG”. Its description, two lines above, says the pack includeshigh definition file formats (JPG, PNG, PDF)” with no SVG. Then the USD 14.40 add-on offers toobtain vector file formats (SVG, PDF)”. Their page contradicts itself on the one format that matters, so budget for the add-on. Black and white versions cost USD 7.20. Unlimited modifications cost USD 7.20. Social network sizes cost USD 7.20. Invoice and email signature templates run USD 6.00 chaque.

Suppose you want what most tools bundle as standard: vector, black-and-white, and the ability to edit later. C'est des dollars américains 24.90 plus USD 14.40 plus USD 7.20 plus USD 7.20, ou USD 53.70 tout en. It beats Looka’s USD 65 and roughly matches DesignEvo’s USD 49.99 vector tier, so it’s competitive. It just isn’t the USD 24.90 on the tin.

The exclusive option is the interesting part. Pour USD 144.00, Logogenie removes your icon from its site permanently and sends a signed copyright agreement. Nothing else in this comparison sells that. Looka’s USD 65 Premium package grants full ownership of your design but leaves the underlying elements in circulation. Logogenie’s exclusivity costs 2.2 times as much and buys a different thing entirely.

Payment is one-time throughout, with no recurring charges. The company confirms that in its own pricing FAQ.

Avantages

  • Only tool here selling true icon exclusivity
  • One-time payment, no subscription
  • Signed copyright agreement with the exclusive option
  • Interface available in eleven languages

Les inconvénients

  • Vector files cost USD 14.40 supplémentaire
  • Real cost is roughly double the headline price
  • Feature list claims SVG that the add-on then sells

Meilleur pour: a buyer who needs the icon to be theirs alone and will pay USD 144 pour ça.

Ignorer si: you assumed USD 24.90 was the total.

Verdict: Choose Logogenie for the exclusive option, because that’s the one thing nobody else sells. Just want a cheap vector logo? The add-on stack pushes you to USD 53.70, and DesignEvo delivers vector plus copyright ownership for USD 49.99. Want it free? Namecheap doesn’t charge at all.

DesignhillBest mid-tier package with designer help

Designhill runs the same three-step ladder as Looka, and lands on the same two numbers. Basic is USD 20 for a basic-resolution file. Premium is USD 65 for the real package. Enterprise is USD 125. Looka charges USD 20 et USD 65 for its two equivalent tiers. Two independent companies, identical price points.

Premium is where Designhill gets interesting. USD 65 one-time buys vector EPS and SVG files, high-resolution rasters, transparent backgrounds and black and white versions. It also includes font names and colour codes, print-ready output, full ownership and lifetime phone support. Those font names and colour codes matter more than they sound. Sans eux, handing your logo to a printer means guessing at your own brand.

The Enterprise tier at USD 125 is the real differentiator. It puts a human designer on your logo instead of leaving you alone with a template editor. That’s a genuine service, priced well below a freelance commission. Nothing else in this comparison offers it inside the same product.

Designhill lists Premium as reduced from USD 150, une 57% économie. We saw no path to paying USD 150, alors traitez l'USD 65 as the price and ignore the anchor above it.

The irritation is finding any of this out. Designhill has no pricing URL at all. Prices load only after you click aView Pricingbutton on the logo maker page. So you can’t bookmark them, share them, or compare them without going through the tool first.

Avantages

  • Premium includes font names and colour codes
  • Designer-assisted tier at USD 125 une fois
  • Lifetime phone support on paid tiers
  • Full ownership stated explicitly

Les inconvénients

  • No pricing page, prices hidden behind a button
  • USD 20 tier is low resolution only
  • Même USD 20 et USD 65 tiers as Looka, no free option

Meilleur pour: a buyer who wants a designer involved without commissioning one properly.

Ignorer si: you want to compare prices before you start designing.

Verdict: Take Designhill’s USD 125 Enterprise tier if you want human input on the design. It’s the only tier here that buys you a person. En USD 65 the two packages match on files. So the tiebreak is the extras. Designhill hands you font names and phone support. Looka hands you unlimited post-purchase changes and a route into its brand kit. At zero, Namecheap wins outright.

Squarespace Logo MakerBest free tool with a licensing catch

Read this before you use it. Squarespace’s own FAQ explains where the icons come from: “all logos come from the Noun Project“. Each onecomes with its own usage terms”, and Squarespace tells you to review the licensing agreement before using the logo elsewhere.

That isn’t boilerplate. It means the icon in your logo carries a licence set by an individual contributor, not by Squarespace. Terms differ from icon to icon. Noun Project’s own pricing page labels its free tierAttribution Required”. Credit the artist, or hold a paid Noun Pro licence that waives it. If your logo is the face of a business, checking each icon’s individual licence is real homework. No other free tool here hands you that particular task.

What you get is otherwise good and genuinely free. Unlimited logos, no account needed to design, and free high-resolution downloads on most Squarespace accounts and plans. Files arrive as black, white and colour versions. Squarespace is specific that all versions are PNG with transparent backgrounds. There’s no vector output at any tier.

Compare that with FreeLogoServices, which charges EUR 35.00 for a package that also lacks SVG, though it does include EPS. Squarespace delivers transparent PNG for nothing where FreeLogoServices wants EUR 35.00. On raster files alone, Squarespace wins outright.

One exclusion hides in the small print. Free logo downloads aren’t available to Squarespace 5.0 utilisateurs, the legacy platform. On an old Squarespace account, check before you invest the time.

Avantages

  • Free high-resolution PNG with transparent background
  • Unlimited logos, no account required to design
  • Noir, white and colour versions supplied together
  • Faire le ménage, restrained icon and type library

Les inconvénients

  • Per-icon Noun Project licences to check yourself
  • No vector output at any price
  • Excluded for Squarespace 5.0 comptes

Meilleur pour: a Squarespace site owner who needs a clean PNG mark and will read the icon licence.

Ignorer si: you want one clear licence covering the whole logo.

Verdict: Use Squarespace Logo Maker if you’re already on Squarespace and the logo lives on screens only. Want a free logo without per-icon licensing homework? Namecheap and Wixel both give you cleaner terms, and SVG on top.

FreeLogoServicesFree to design, EUR 35 to own

The name promises one thing and the FAQ says another, in the company’s own words: “Creating and saving your logo is free. toutefois, you must purchase your design in order to access your image files.Nothing is hidden here. Le mot “gratuit” describes the design step, et rien d'autre.

There are two packages. Basic at EUR 35.00 includes multiple logo sizes, a black and white version, et PNG, EPS and JPEG files. Premium at EUR 52.00 adds unlimited edits for one year, social media files and multiple layouts. Upgrading later costs EUR 17.00, exactly the difference, so deciding late carries no penalty. Prices display in the visitor’s local currency and may differ by region.

The edit restriction is the sharp edge. Basic buyers can’t edit the logo after purchase at all. Premium buyers lose editing after twelve months. Most competitors treat post-purchase editing as permanent. Looka and Designhill both include unlimited changes forever at USD 65, and Logogenie sells it as a USD 7.20 Ajouter sur.

The package does include EPS, a proper vector format, so the files work for print. That puts Basic at EUR 35.00 ahead of DesignEvo’s USD 24.99 Niveau de base, which includes no vector format at all. Plus cher, more delivered.

Worth knowing who owns it. FreeLogoServices belongs to Deluxe Corporation, which announced its acquisition of LogoMix on 9 Mai 2018 pour USD 43 million in an all-cash deal. LogoMix ran FreeLogoServices.com, LogoMix.com and LogoMarker.com. If those two sites feel like the same product in different paint, that’s because they are.

Avantages

  • EPS vector included in the EUR 35 Niveau de base
  • Upgrade path costs the exact price difference
  • Backed by a large, stable parent company
  • Design and save without paying anything

Les inconvénients

  • Basic buyers can’t edit after purchase, jamais
  • Premium editing expires after one year
  • No SVG in either package

Meilleur pour: someone who wants print-ready EPS files and is confident the design is final.

Ignorer si: you expect to tweak the logo as the business changes.

Verdict: Buy FreeLogoServices Premium at EUR 52.00 when you need EPS and want a year to make changes. Never buy Basic. A logo you can’t edit is a logo you’ll replace. If editing matters more than EPS, Designhill’s USD 65 Premium includes unlimited edits with no expiry.

DesignEvo – Free tier with two big strings attached

DesignEvo’s free tier is free in a way that’ll surprise you twice. The free column on its pricing table is headed “GRATUIT / Give Credit, so attribution to DesignEvo is a condition of use. And the high-resolution row shows the free tier limité à 300 px, against up to 5,000 px on paid plans. UNE 300 px logo with a credit line attached is a placeholder, not a brand asset.

The paid tiers are clearer. Basic is USD 24.99 une fois, listed against USD 49.99. It lifts you to 5,000 px with transparent PNG, édition, re-downloads and lifetime support. Plus is USD 49.99 une fois, listed against USD 99.99. It adds vector PDF and SVG files, the actual font files used in the design, print-ready output and copyright ownership.

Look at that last item again. Copyright ownership is a line item on the USD 49.99 tier only. It’s absent from both the free and Basic columns. So you can pay DesignEvo USD 24.99 and still not own the design outright. Most competitors grant ownership at their first paid tier. Looka and Designhill both grant it at USD 65, and both make it unambiguous.

En USD 49.99, Plus undercuts Designhill’s USD 65 Premium by 23%. It delivers a comparable bundle of vector files plus ownership, with the font files thrown in. On price for that combination, DesignEvo Plus is the best value among the paid options here.

The library runs past 10,000 modèles, with web, desktop and mobile versions. PearlMountain Limited operates it.

Avantages

  • Plus at USD 49.99 undercuts comparable tiers by 23%
  • Actual font files included with Plus
  • 10,000+ modèles, plus desktop and mobile apps
  • One-time pricing, no subscription anywhere

Les inconvénients

  • Free tier requires attribution and caps at 300 px
  • Ownership only on the top tier
  • Basic at USD 24.99 includes no vector files

Meilleur pour: a buyer who wants vector files, font files and clear ownership under USD 50.

Ignorer si: you were planning to use the free tier for a real business.

Verdict: Buy DesignEvo Plus at USD 49.99. It’s the best-value paid package here and the only one bundling font files. Ignore the free tier, because attribution plus a 300 px cap makes it commercially useless. Ignore Basic too: payer en dollars américains 24.99 without ownership is the worst trade on this page. If you want free, that’s Namecheap’s job.

Les photos – Watermarked unless you subscribe

The free plan’s export line reads Watermarked JPG, PNG and PDF Exports. That single row settles whether Fotor belongs on a free logo maker list. Ce n'est pas le cas, at least not on its free tier. A watermarked logo can’t be used for anything.

Removing the watermark means Fotor Pro at EUR 33.99, facturé annuellement. That brings HD and transparent PNG exports, 1,200 credits a year, 100+ editing tools and a library past 100,000 modèles. Pro+ costs EUR 52.49/year with 3,600 credits and multiple brand kits. Max costs EUR 117.52/year with 12,000 crédits. These are the prices shown to a European visitor and vary by region.

Here’s the part that matters for logos. No tier lists SVG. The best export Fotor advertises at any price isHD and Transparent PNG, Watermark-Free”. Pay EUR 117.52/year and you still get no vector file. Fine for photo editing and social graphics. For a logo it’s a structural gap, and it’s why Fotor sits near the bottom of this list despite being a capable application.

Set that against Canva. Canva Pro at EUR 110/year runs 3.2 times Fotor Pro’s EUR 33.99/year. For that multiple you get SVG export, which Fotor doesn’t sell at all. Choosing between two subscription suites for logo work? The extra EUR 76 buys the one file format that decides whether your logo survives contact with a printer.

The free tier also expires your work. Creations are stored for 30 journées, against unlimited storage on paid plans, avec 512 MB of cloud storage.

Avantages

  • Cheapest full design suite here at EUR 33.99/year
  • Strong AI photo and portrait editing tools
  • 100,000+ templates and assets on paid tiers
  • Credits roll over up to five months while subscribed

Les inconvénients

  • Free exports carry a watermark
  • No SVG at any price
  • Free tier deletes creations after 30 journées

Meilleur pour: someone who wants a cheap all-round design suite and treats the logo as a side task.

Ignorer si: the logo needs to scale to print.

Verdict: Subscribe to Fotor Pro at EUR 33.99/year only when photo editing is the main job and the logo is incidental. For logo work it’s the wrong tool at every price, because no tier produces vector. Pay Canva EUR 110/year for SVG, or pay nothing and use Namecheap.

Namecheap Logo MakerBest free logo maker overall

Zéro. Not zero to design and USD 65 to download, which is the pattern across most of this list. Namecheap’s own FAQ puts it beyond argument: “Your custom logo design is always free on Logo Maker. No matter if you download your logo once or thousands of times, it will always be free.

And the right thing downloads. The feature list commits to PNG and SVG files with every download, at high resolution. A separate line states that Logo Maker never adds watermarks. Gratuit, plus vector, plus no watermark: that combination is unique on this page. Every other free tool fails at least one of the three. Squarespace has no vector. Fotor watermarks. Canva locks SVG behind Pro. Shopify won’t say.

The comparison is stark. Looka charges USD 65 for PNG plus SVG plus transparent versions. Designhill charges USD 65 pour le même. Namecheap charges nothing for that core. You give up the polished extras (brand guidelines, the 300-asset kit, lifetime phone support) and you keep USD 65.

Its AI generator matches fonts and icons to your industry, and the whole icon library is free to use. Logo Maker sits inside Namecheap’s Visual suite, alongside Font Maker, Site Maker, Card Maker and a business name generator. So the logo drops straight into a site or a business card if you want that.

Deux limites honnêtes. You need a free Namecheap account to download, though not to design. And Namecheap says plainly it can’t help you copyright or trademark the result, pointing you to a lawyer instead. That’s the correct answer, and it’s the one every other tool here should be giving.

Avantages

  • Free PNG and SVG, unlimited downloads
  • No watermarks at any point
  • Entire icon library free to use
  • Feeds directly into Site Maker and Card Maker

Les inconvénients

  • Free Namecheap account required to download
  • No brand guidelines or asset kit
  • Fewer style options than Looka or Canva

Meilleur pour: almost anyone who needs a working logo and doesn’t want to pay for one.

Ignorer si: you need a full brand identity system rather than a mark.

Verdict: Start with Namecheap. It’s the only tool here delivering the two files a logo actually needs, for nothing, with no watermark and no upsell. Need brand guidelines, social templates and a 300-asset kit alongside? Looka’s USD 96/year Brand Kit is the upgrade to buy. Want a designer’s eye on it? That’s Designhill at USD 125.

What We Removed From This List, and Why

Three tools from the previous version of this guide are gone. Other lists still recommend them.

Logaster is the clearest case, and the story is worth telling in full. ZenBusiness announced its acquisition of the Ukrainian logo maker in September 2022 and closed it in early 2023. Today logaster.com redirects to zenbusiness.com, and the old logo path lands on the ZenBusiness logo generator page. That page carries its own timestamp: dernière mise à jour 13 février 2026. Its hero paragraph reads “Bientôt disponible – Create your own unique logo in seconds with the upcoming ZenBusiness logo generator!” Three years after the deal closed, the replacement was still marked as coming soon.

The rest of that page is recycled Logaster copy describing a working product. It even labels the file formats backwards, prometteur “raster (PDF, SVG) and vector (PNG, JPEG)” des dossiers. PDF and SVG are the vector formats. PNG and JPEG are the raster ones.

Constant Contact LogoMaker is simply gone. Four candidate URLs, including the one this guide previously linked, all return 404 dès le mois d'août 2026. Constant Contact’s email marketing business carries on. The logo tool doesn’t.

Ucraft Logo Maker was retired without an announcement. Ucraft.com now redirects to ucraft.net, and the old /free-logo-maker path returns 404. A scan of the homepage found no link to a logo maker among 559 links on the page. Ucraft is a website builder now, arrêt complet.

Three more tools are alive but didn’t earn a full section. GraphicSprings changed business model entirely. It now sells AI generation credits at USD 10 pour 15, USD 20 pour 35 et USD 30 pour 60, rather than selling logo downloads. ConceptionMantique publishes no logo price anywhere on its site, only brand identity theme bundles at USD 99. Hipster Logo Generator still works, still produces raster files only, and still publishes no ownership or licensing terms at all.

How to Choose a Free Logo Maker

Forget feature lists. The decision comes down to one question: what file do you need, and what’s that file worth to you? Here are the situations that actually come up.

Budget: exactly zero. The logo goes on a website. Use Namecheap Logo Maker. You get PNG and SVG, no watermark, no download fee. Skip Canva’s free plan even though it’s the better editor. It can’t export a transparent PNG or an SVG, and you’ll discover that only after you’ve finished designing. Skip Fotor’s free plan for the same reason: every free export carries a watermark.

Budget: en dessous du dollar 50. The logo goes on printed packaging. Buy DesignEvo Plus at USD 49.99. It’s the cheapest package here combining vector PDF and SVG, print-ready output, font files and explicit copyright ownership. Skip DesignEvo’s own USD 24.99 Niveau de base, which has no vector files and doesn’t transfer ownership. Skip Logogenie unless you’ve costed the add-ons, because vector there is USD 14.40 au-dessus du dollar 24.90 base.

Charge de travail: a funded launch. You need logo, social assets and brand guidelines together. Buy Looka’s Brand Kit at USD 96/year. It includes roughly 300 branded assets and, exceptionnellement, lets you keep full ownership of the logo after you cancel. Skip Tailor Brands at USD 199/year unless you also need the LLC filing. Otherwise you’re paying 2.07 times Looka’s price for formation services you won’t use.

Situation: exclusivity matters. You want the icon to be yours alone. Only Logogenie sells this, en USD 144.00. That removes your icon from their library and sends a signed copyright agreement. Partout ailleurs, on every paid tier of every other tool here, the underlying elements stay available to other customers. If exclusivity is a real requirement, USD 144 beats a freelance commission and it’s the only route on this list.

Situation: you’re on a platform already. Running a Shopify store? Use Shopify Logo Maker. It’s free and tuned for retail. Sur Squarespace, use the Squarespace Logo Maker, but read the Noun Project licence on your chosen icon before you print anything. In both cases the integration beats a marginal quality gain elsewhere. Haven’t picked a platform yet? Notre guide pour the cheapest website builders covers that decision, and it should come before the logo does.

One thing no tool on this list can do for you: register a trademark. Namecheap says so directly and refers you to a lawyer. That’s the honest answer. Buyingfull ownershipmeans you own that arrangement of elements. It doesn’t stop someone else using a similar mark, and it doesn’t clear you against an existing registration. If the brand matters, search your national trademark register before you print anything.

Questions fréquemment posées

Which free logo makers actually give you an SVG file without paying?

Deux, on our August 2026 checks. Namecheap Logo Maker includes PNG and SVG with every free download. Wixel, the renamed Wix Logo Maker, lists downloads in any quality and format as always included, even on the free plan. Squarespace and Shopify are free but provide no vector. Canva has SVG export, but only on Pro at EUR 110/year, and Fotor doesn’t offer SVG at any price.

Do you own a logo made with a free logo maker?

You usually own the specific arrangement, but rarely the pieces. Looka and Designhill both grant full ownership with their USD 65 Premium packages, and Looka’s ownership stays valid after you cancel. DesignEvo makes copyright ownership a line item on its USD 49.99 Plus tier only, donc le dollar 24.99 tier doesn’t include it. Wix states plainly that design elements aren’t exclusive to you, and Squarespace passes through per-icon licences from the Noun Project.

Is Looka worth USD 65 when Namecheap Logo Maker is free?

Only if you’re buying design quality rather than files. Looka’s USD 65 Premium package and Namecheap’s free download both deliver PNG and SVG with transparent versions. The file outcome is close to identical. What USD 65 buys is a better AI generator, multiple colour variations, lifetime support and unlimited post-purchase edits. For a business putting the logo on a storefront, that can be worth it. For a side project, start free with Namecheap and pay later if you outgrow it.

How much does it cost to remove a watermark from a logo?

It depends on the tool, and on two of them the answer is nothing, because they never add one. Fotor watermarks every free export and charges EUR 33.99/year for Pro to remove it. DesignEvo doesn’t watermark, but its free tier demands a credit line and caps output at 300 px. That’s a similar restriction wearing different clothes. Namecheap and Squarespace never watermark at all, and Namecheap says so explicitly on its feature list.

Verdict final

Namecheap Logo Maker wins this comparison outright, et ce n'est pas proche. It’s the only tool delivering PNG and SVG, at high resolution, with no watermark and no payment. It says so in writing on its own site. That’s the entire job, and every other free option here fails at least one of those conditions.

Wixel takes second on slightly worse terms. Free SVG export, Oui, but through a monthly AI credit system with a 30-per-day cap. Already in the Wix ecosystem? Use it and save the trip.

Among the paid tools, DesignEvo Plus at USD 49.99 is the best value. It bundles vector files, font files, print-ready output and copyright ownership. C'est 23% less than the USD 65 tous les deux Rechercher et Designhill charge for comparable packages. Pay Looka’s USD 65 when you want four formats plus unlimited later edits in one purchase. Payer Logogenie USD 144.00 only when you need the icon exclusively yours.

Two to avoid for logo work. Canva is the best design tool on this page. Yet its free plan can’t export a transparent PNG or an SVG, so a free Canva logo isn’t really a logo. Les photos watermarks every free export and sells no vector format at any price, right up to its EUR 117.52/year top tier.

And treat any 2026 guide still recommending Logaster, Ucraft Logo Maker or Constant Contact LogoMaker as one that hasn’t checked its own links. All three are gone. The ZenBusiness page that replaced Logaster has been promising a “Bientôt disponible” successor since at least February 2026.

Conclusion: a logo is the cheapest part of getting a business online. Worth remembering when a checkout page asks for USD 65.
