respuesta corta: OVH Hispano sells some of the cheapest hosting in Spain, but it can’t host your website in Spain. Every shared plan it sells to Spanish customers runs in Gravelines (Francia) o Beauharnois (Canadá). That comes from OVHcloud’s own order catalogue. The marketing pages never mention a location at all.
Esta revisión se basa en 8,332 customer ratings, OVHcloud’s public order catalogue, its Spanish contracts, and community threads on Reddit and GitHub. A diferencia de las reseñas con muchos afiliados, we show renewal prices next to promotional ones. We also break the review corpus down by language, and quote the contract instead of the sales page. Prices are in EUR excluding 21% IVA, Spain’s VAT, and were verified in August 2026.
Evaluación general: OVH Hispano scores 1.5/5 desde 58 reviews on its Spanish profile and 4.0/5 desde 8,274 on the global one. Strengths are raw price and mature infrastructure. Complaints centre on support response times, login and billing failures, and renewals that reach five times the advertised rate. Best for technical buyers who can self-serve.

Características y servicios
OVH Hispano, S.L.U. is the Spanish subsidiary of the French group OVHcloud, incorporated in Madrid on 13 enero 2004 under tax ID B-83834747. The ovh.es domain now redirects to ovhcloud.com/es-es, so you’re buying from a pan-European catalogue with a Spanish front end.
Tipos de hosting ofrecidos
- Hosting compartido – eleven plans across Eco, Business and Agency families
- VPS – four models in the 2027 distancia, plus two Local Zone models (small edge sites, cubierto a continuación)
- Servidores dedicados – Kimsufi, Elevar, Avance, Scale and High Grade
- Nube pública, dominios, business email and Microsoft 365 licencias
Características clave Los clientes destacan
- Price per gigabyte. The Personal plan gives 100 GB de almacenamiento SSD y 15 websites for EUR 2.99/mo in year one.
- Almacenamiento NVMe en VPS (a faster class of solid-state disk that talks straight to the processor).
- Renewal prices printed on the plan cards, struck through above the promotional one. Most budget hosts hide them.
- Free domain in year one on Starter and Personal plans.
Ubicaciones del centro de datos
Here’s the finding that matters most to a Spanish buyer. We read the location field on every plan in OVHcloud’s public order catalogue for Spain. All eleven shared hosting plans carry the same three options: gra1, gra3 and bhs1. Those are Gravelines in northern France, twice, and Beauharnois in Canada. Not one of the 166 dedicated plans sold in Spain can sit in Madrid either.
OVHcloud does have a Spanish site: it opened a Public Cloud Local Zone near Madrid in February 2024. A Local Zone is a small edge site in rented colocation space, not a full datacentre. Only two VPS models and Public Cloud instances can go there. Everything else runs abroad.
So a Spanish business buying shared hosting here gets its data stored in France or Canada. If that matters for latency or compliance, check before you buy. The product pages won’t tell you.
Expectativas de desempeño
OVHcloud advertises “99,9 % de disponibilidad observada” on the Spanish hosting page, fifteen times over. Note the word observada: observado, no garantizado. The Spanish shared hosting contract, version dated 04/05/2026, contains no uptime percentage and no service credits at all. Sección 4.1 commits OVHcloud only to an “obligación de medios”, a best-efforts duty rather than a promised result.
VPS is different. Those plans carry a real 99.9% LECHUGA (Acuerdo de Nivel de Servicio, un compromiso contractual de tiempo de actividad) with a credits table in the contract. But article 4.3 of the general conditions limits them. Credits are never paid in cash, are capped at one month’s price, and are void if you owe any invoice.
We found no independent benchmark data for OVH Hispano’s shared hosting.
Experiencia del cliente
The rating picture splits three ways, and the split is the story. The Spanish profile for ovh.es sits at 1.5/5 desde 58 comentarios, 38 de ellos una estrella. The global OVHcloud profile sits at 4.0/5 desde 8,274. A third-party directory still lists “OVH Hispano” a 4.0 desde 49 los usuarios, but its newest review dates from 19 julio 2022.
Now look at who wrote the 4.0. Del 7,850 reseñas con texto, 4,742 are in French and only 288 en español. Eso es 3.7%, so the headline is a French score. Take the Spanish-language ratings alone and the split is 140 cinco estrellas contra 128 una estrella, con 33 entre. Their plain average is 3.1.
Lo que los clientes elogian
Speed of resolution, when a ticket lands with the right person. Several recent Spanish reviews name the technician and quote the ticket number, such as CS16205390 and CS16311140. One customer who ordered the wrong product in July 2026 got a full refund, despite being a business account.
Longevity comes up often. Spanish-speaking reviewers in Spain, Mexico and Peru describe ten years or more with the company, praising price and reliability.
The infrastructure itself rarely draws complaints. When people are unhappy with OVH, it’s almost never about the hardware.
Quejas comunes
Support latency dominates. A Spanish partner-tier customer wrote in July 2026 that a ticket took months to answer, and that agents lacked the knowledge to help. Another the same week described a server down over two days with no notification email.
Login failures come second. Customers report being locked out because the two-factor code, the one-time number that confirms a login, never arrives by SMS or email. It’s not one person’s bad week. The same complaint appears in Spanish reviews and English community posts across July 2026.
Billing and refunds come third. One Spanish reviewer in July 2026 accused the company of breaking Spanish refund law on a renewal. Account suspensions after payment appear in August 2026 publicaciones.
Comentarios de la comunidad (Reddit & El)
Community discussions are blunter than the review platforms, and for Spain they surface a specific hazard.
En 18 agosto 2026 a buyer posted on r/VPS about a Local Zone VPS they’d bought by mistake. They couldn’t scale it, and it wouldn’t send outbound email. Their words: “during the order placement journey there is no mention of it. A lot was hidden from the users.” The thread notes support staff didn’t know the difference either.
That claim checks out against OVHcloud’s own documentation. SMTP is the protocol servers use to send mail. The docs say Local Zone servers “cannot contact SMTP servers under any circumstances; Puerto 25, like all other SMTP ports, is therefore simply inaccessible, with no option to unblock it”. It also says a Local Zone VPS “does not include security features like Anti-DDoS, or advanced options such as Additional IP and Load Balancer”. You also cannot migrate one to a regular datacentre. You have to rebuild it there.
There’s a dated primary source too. A Spanish customer opened issue 421 on OVHcloud’s public infrastructure roadmap on 26 diciembre 2025, asking for port 25 on a Madrid VPS. The error he pasted was in Spanish: “This IP is used within LocalZone, request can’t be processed.” A second user confirmed ports 465 y 587 were dead in March 2026. The issue is still open.
Elsewhere on r/OVHcloud through mid-2026, the recurring titles cover unreachable support, orders stuck in processing for days, and outages. Positive threads exist, just fewer.
Calidad de soporte
OVHcloud publishes four support tiers. Standard and Premium give phone and tickets in business hours, más 24/7 Entradas. Business and Enterprise add 24/7 teléfono. The stated target for a first reply is 15 minutos para 8 horario comercial.
One detail matters for Spanish customers. OVHcloud states that outside business hours, support is in English. Need help in Spanish at 22:00 un domingo? The free tier won’t give it to you. UNA 2022 Spanish reviewer made the same complaint about cover after 18:00.
When to Use OVH Hispano
OVH Hispano earns its place in specific cases.
Ideal para
Developers who want cheap Linux boxes: the VPS range has no promotional pricing, no setup fee and no renewal jump. EUR 4.49/mo buys 2 núcleos virtuales, 4 GB de RAM y 40 GB NVMe, at the same price next year.
Buyers who want a lot of storage for very little: the Personal plan gives 100 GB of SSD and 15 sitios. That’s EUR 2.99/mo in year one and EUR 5.99 después, if you don’t mind French servers.
People running a lab or a side project: a Kimsufi dedicated server costs EUR 9.99/mo. The hardware is old, but it’s a whole physical machine for the price of a shared plan.
Lo agradecerás si
- You can fix your own problems, because the free tier is built around self-service
- You read contracts, because OVH’s are detailed and mostly say what they mean
- You want EU infrastructure with the GDPR paperwork already done
- You’ll commit 12 meses por adelantado, which removes the dedicated setup fee
When NOT to Use OVH Hispano
Ningún anfitrión se adapta a todos. OVH Hispano is the wrong choice if any of the following applies.
Mira en otra parte si
Your data has to sit physically in Spain: shared hosting and dedicated servers can’t be placed in Madrid at all. Only two VPS models and Public Cloud can, and both are stripped down.
Your server must send email: a Madrid Local Zone VPS cannot reach any SMTP port. No 25, no 465, no 587. There’s no way to request an exception.
A contractual uptime promise matters: the shared hosting page advertises 99.9% disponibilidad observada. The contract dated 04/05/2026 contains no uptime figure and no credits.
Esperas una garantía de devolución de dinero: no hay uno. Spanish consumers get the statutory 14-day withdrawal right, minus a deduction for days used, and it doesn’t apply once a service is fully performed. Businesses don’t get it at all.
Banderas rojas para su situación
- Support in Spanish at night: outside business hours the free tier answers in English only
- The cheapest Business plan: Pro renews at 5.02x, above the tier over it
- Relying on the host’s backups: the contract calls them a best-efforts duty with no recovery-time objective, and puts disaster recovery on you
- Moving a Local Zone VPS later: OVHcloud says you can’t migrate it, only rebuild elsewhere
Si alguno de estos se aplica, mira las alternativas a continuación.
OVH Hispano Transparency Score
We assess how upfront the company is with information that changes a buying decision.
- Información de la empresa: Bueno. The legal notice names OVH HISPANO, S.L.U., tax ID B-83834747, and its Madrid registry entry. una arruga: it gives Calle Princesa 22 as the registered office, while Spanish company directories list Calle Alcalá 21. It also publishes a 902 número, a shared-cost prefix that costs callers more than a normal line.
- Transparencia de precios: Bueno. Renewal prices sit on the plan cards, and both IVA-inclusive and IVA-exclusive figures are shown. That beats most budget hosts. The term ladder is the weak spot: nothing warns you that 24 months costs more per month than 12.
- Documentación técnica: Limitado. The guides are excellent once you find them, and the public order API is unusually open. But server location is absent from every shared hosting and VPS sales page. We only established it by reading the order catalogue.
- Condiciones & Políticas: Bueno. Contracts are versioned, dated and public. They also contradict the marketing. The sales page promises 99.9% observed availability the contract never mentions. The Spanish VPS page marks seven features “Excepto Local Zones” but leaves Anti-DDoS unmarked, which the English documentation says is excluded.
Transparencia general: good on money, poor on geography. OVH tells you what you’ll pay and hides where you’ll be hosted.
Alternatives to OVH Hispano
If OVH Hispano doesn’t fit, these address the specific gaps above.
For Servers Actually in Spain: dinahosting
A Spanish company running since 2001, advertising dedicated servers hosted in Spain, Spanish IP addresses, free migration and 24/7 apoyo. It closes the gap OVH leaves open. Compara opciones en nuestro Guía de alojamiento web en España..
For a Guaranteed Uptime Figure: cdmon
Also Spanish, with a datacentre in Spain, a published 99.95% garantía de disponibilidad y 24/7 Spanish phone line. It runs the same promotional model though, discounting entry plans from EUR 7.95 son euros 1.95, so check its renewal price too.
For Flat Pricing and a Written SLA: Hetzner
The German provider publishes a 99.9% uptime SLA with defined credits, and doesn’t run promotional-to-renewal pricing. It did raise cloud list prices on 15 junio 2026, así que consulte las tarifas actuales. Vea cómo se compara en nuestro Guía de alojamiento VPS.

OVH Hispano Plans and Pricing
⚠️ Advertencia de renovación: the Pro plan is advertised at 1,99 EUR/mes y renueva a 9,99 EUR/mes. That’s a 5.02x increase, and it makes Pro the cheapest Business plan to buy and the most expensive to keep. Startup costs a euro more up front and renews 40% más económico. Budget for year two before you pick a tier.
Hosting Compartido
All figures are per month excluding IVA, on the standard 12-month term.
- Inicio: EUR 1.59 entrada, EUR 2.59 renovación (1.63X). 1 sitio, 1 GB SSD, 2 buzones.
- Personal: EUR 2.99 entrada, EUR 5.99 renovación (2.00X). 15 sitios, 100 GB SSD.
- Puesta en marcha: EUR 2.99 entrada, EUR 5.99 renovación (2.00X). 1 vCore (a share of a processor core), 1 GB de RAM.
- Pro: EUR 1.99 entrada, EUR 9.99 renovación (5.02X). 1 vCore, 2 GB de RAM, 250 GB SSD.
- Actuación 1: EUR 6.99 entrada, EUR 19.99 renovación (2.86X).
- Agencia: EUR 12.99 entrada, EUR 38.99 renovación (3.00X).
- Agencia máx.: EUR 24.99 entrada, EUR 76.99 renovación (3.08X).
There’s a second trap in the term ladder. On Pro and every Performance and Agency tier, a longer commitment costs más per month during the discounted period. Pro is EUR 1.99/mo on 12 months and EUR 3.99 en 24. Only the two cheapest Eco plans get cheaper the longer you sign up.
Alojamiento VPS
A partir de: EUR 4.49/mo monthly, or EUR 3.81/mo on a 12-month term. There’s no renewal shock here. The annual price is a flat 15% off the monthly rate and setup is free.
The catch is location. Those four models run in France, Alemania, el Reino Unido, Polonia, Milán, Canadá, Singapur, Sydney or Mumbai. Not Madrid. For Spain you need a Local Zone VPS, and the cheapest is EUR 7.49/mo. Hosting in your own country costs 67% more than the advertised entry price.
Servidores dedicados
A partir de: EUR 9.99/mo for a Kimsufi KS-B on a 2013-era Xeon E5-1620v2. Current-generation machines start at EUR 114.99/mo for an Advance-1 with an AMD EPYC 4244P.
Two things to know. Ordering month to month adds a setup fee equal to one full month, so an Advance-1 costs EUR 229.98 in month one. Pagar 12 o 24 months up front and that fee is zero. Segundo, the same server appears twice in OVHcloud’s own catalogues at two prices. Plan code 24adv01-v3 is EUR 114.99/mo in the dedicated catalogue and EUR 89.99/mo in the Eco one. The gap runs 16% a 47% across the Advance line. See how that compares in our guía de servidor dedicado.
Costos ocultos a tener en cuenta
- Renovación de dominio después del primer año gratis: .es EUR 5.99 son euros 6.99, .com EUR 7.99 son euros 13.49
- .cat is the worst of them: EUR 10.99 registrarse, EUR 20.89 renovar
- Dedicated setup fee: one full month on rolling monthly orders, EUR 0 en 12 o 24 meses prepago
- IVA: every advertised price excludes 21% impuesto, con euros 1.59 is really EUR 1.92
- Copias de seguridad: included on shared hosting, but only as a best-efforts duty with no restore-time commitment
Veredicto de precios
Year one is cheap and honest. Year two is where the money is. Buy Pro because it looks like the cheapest Business plan, and year two costs EUR 119.88. The Startup plan you skipped costs EUR 71.88. Read the struck-through number, not the big one.

OVH Hispano is a cheap, competent European host with a Spanish name and no Spanish hosting behind it.
La línea de fondo
anota 1.5/5 a través de 58 reviews on its Spanish profile and 4.0/5 a través de 8,274 on the global one. OVH delivers infrastructure and price. It falls short on support, and on telling you where your site lives. Cómpralo si eres técnico, patient and indifferent to whether your data sits in Gravelines. Avoid it if you need Spanish servers, Spanish night-time support, or a server that can send email from Madrid.
One more thing to watch. OVHcloud announced on 17 agosto 2026 that dedicated server prices rise 28% on 2024-generation Advance machines and 52% on 2026-generation ones. New orders pay the higher rate from 11 agosto 2026, and running servers from 1 octubre 2026. Kimsufi, So You Start and Rise are excluded. Shared hosting and VPS were not named. Any review quoting older dedicated prices is already out of date.

Preguntas frecuentes
Is OVH Hispano good for beginners?
No precisamente. The prices are beginner-friendly but the support model isn’t. Free-tier help runs in business hours, and in English outside them. If you can’t diagnose your own site, elige un anfitrión con 24/7 chat in Spanish.
Where are OVH Hispano’s servers located?
Not in Spain, for most products. El alojamiento compartido se ejecuta en Gravelines, France or Beauharnois, Canadá. Dedicated servers have no Madrid option. Only two Local Zone VPS models and Public Cloud can sit near Madrid.
Is OVH Hispano worth the price?
en el año uno, si. In year two it depends on the tier. Starter rises 63%, but Pro rises 402% and ends up costing more than the plan above it. Work out the renewal cost before you commit.
¿De qué se quejan más los clientes??
Tres cosas. Slow or unhelpful support tickets. Login failures where the two-factor code never arrives. Billing disputes and refused refunds. Hardware reliability is rarely the issue.
Can I send email from an OVH VPS in Madrid?
No. OVHcloud’s documentation says Local Zone servers cannot reach any SMTP port, and there’s no way to have it unblocked. Use a VPS in a regular datacentre, or an external mail service.
Does OVH Hispano offer refunds?
No hay garantía de devolución de dinero. Spanish consumers have the statutory 14-day withdrawal right, less a charge for days used, and it lapses once a service is fully delivered. Cancel mid-term and you get a pro-rata refund, but the months you used are recalculated at the shorter term’s rate.
