HostSoch – 75 Customer Reviews: Analysis (Sep 2026)

HostSoch doesn’t raise your price at renewal. That alone puts it ahead of most budget Indian hosts. The catch is everything around the price. The company answering your support ticket isn’t the one named on the contact page. And only four people have reviewed HostSoch anywhere since September 2022.

This review is built from the checkout cart, the Terms of Service and the domain registry, not the marketing pages. We priced every plan by walking the cart to the configuration step, and read the contract to see which promises survive it. We also show the community feedback and the ownership trail that affiliate reviews skip.

Overall assessment: HostSoch earns 2.6 out of 5 from us. Its strengths are flat renewal pricing, low entry costs and a wide catalogue. The weaknesses are heavier: no uptime guarantee in the contract, a review record near-silent since 2022, and a site that conceals who runs it. It suits a cost-driven buyer with a small, low-stakes site.

Last updated: September 2026. Pricing and review data verified 21 September 2026.

Recent history matters here. HostSoch discontinued its lifetime free domain offer on 1 December 2021, and the free domain now covers the first year only. Domain privacy also stopped being free: INR 100 a year from 1 January 2021, doubling to INR 200 on 2 July 2022. Any review still listing “free domain for lifetime” as a HostSoch perk describes a package that ended nearly five years ago.

Features and Services

HostSoch sells a broad catalogue for a company this small. Shared hosting is the core.

Hosting Types Offered

  • Linux shared hosting – four tiers on cPanel (the standard hosting control panel), sold separately for India, USA and Europe servers
  • Windows shared hosting – four tiers, priced above the Linux equivalents
  • Application plans for WordPress, Magento, Joomla and Drupal, priced identically to plain Linux hosting
  • Linux and Windows VPS (Virtual Private Server, a partitioned slice of a physical machine)
  • Dedicated servers, four Linux and four Windows configurations, plus one “Cloud Server”
  • Business email, SSL, SiteLock, web design and SEO. No reseller hosting.

Key Features Customers Highlight

Reviewers rarely mention specifications. Praise, when it came, was about the price and someone answering at an odd hour.

  • Flat renewal pricing – the cart charges the same rate on renewal as on signup, at the same billing cycle. HostSoch advertises “Buy & Renew at same price”, and the checkout backs it up.
  • Free SSL and free Cloudflare CDN on every shared plan. A CDN (Content Delivery Network) caches your pages on servers nearer your visitors.
  • LiteSpeed web server on Linux plans. LiteSpeed serves cached pages faster than Apache under load.
  • Free migration and a SitePad website builder.

One spec is missing. HostSoch advertises “Full SSD Server” and never mentions NVMe, a faster class of solid-state drive most competitors now fit as standard.

Data Center Locations

HostSoch claims “6 Data Centers In Multiple Location”, then names four: Arizona and St. Louis in the USA, Strasbourg in France, and Mumbai in India. The cart adds a fifth, Frankfurt, on one dedicated server. The sixth is never named.

None are HostSoch’s own facilities. The Mumbai server IP from its 2021 migration notice belongs to Tier4Cloud. The Arizona addresses belong to Secured Servers LLC in Tempe. Its cPanel host sits on DigitalOcean. That’s a normal reseller footprint, but “6 Data Centers” reads as ownership. You can at least pick your region before buying, which decides latency: the delay between a request and the server’s reply.

Performance Expectations

HostSoch’s uptime promise contradicts itself on one page. The homepage feature block says “99.9% Uptime”. Further down, the FAQ says “We claim a 99% uptime guarantee for your website.” Those are not close. 99.9% allows about 43 minutes of downtime a month. 99% allows about 7 hours and 18 minutes.

The Terms of Service settle it, and not in your favour. The contract contains no mention of uptime, no service level agreement (a guaranteed availability commitment) and no service credit for downtime. Neither homepage figure binds HostSoch to anything.

So how fast is it? Nobody can currently say. No independent benchmark data exists. The most widely cited third-party review was first published in September 2018 and updated in place since, so its measurements are eight years old.

Customer Experience

HostSoch’s reputation and its current service are separated by about four years. Across three independent platforms it averages 4.0 out of 5 from 92 reviews. A fourth source, an Indian directory that discloses it’s paid by the companies it lists, adds 168 more at 4.9. That 4.0 is the figure affiliate pages quote. It describes a company that has mostly stopped being reviewed.

What Customers Praise

Positive reviews here are real, specific and old. Every five-star review on the largest independent platform was written between July 2016 and February 2019. Support responsiveness dominates them, with reviewers describing help at any hour as the reason they stayed.

Freebies are the other recurring theme, and this is where those reviews aged badly. The 2016 five-star reviews praise a free lifetime domain and free privacy protection. Both were withdrawn, in December 2021 and January 2021. Anyone reading them today is reading about products HostSoch no longer sells.

Common Complaints

Every negative review is recent, and they say close to the same thing. Support stopped answering. One reviewer in April 2026 wrote that tickets “are not being addressed within the promised turnaround time”. September 2024 put it shorter: “No response even if we open ticket, they don’t care.” April 2024 added a figure. That customer reported a domain transfer taking more than seven days.

December 2023 brought the most detailed complaint. It alleges HostSoch let a SitePad website-builder licence lapse, then ignored repeated tickets. That customer says they took the matter to India’s Central Consumer Protection Authority.

Community Feedback (Reddit & Forums)

There’s almost nothing, and the absence is informative. A company claiming 140,000 customers across 120 countries has been mentioned in four Reddit threads in nine years.

The only recent mention is negative. One user in June 2026 listed what they’d tried: “Have used bluehost, hostsoch, youstabkle, but didn’t get good.” One positive recommendation exists, from April 2018. It was posted by an account named after coupon promotion. HostSoch has never been discussed in the main web hosting subreddit.

The parent company doesn’t fare better. eWebGuru, which runs HostSoch, holds 2.4 out of 5 from 7 reviews. The shape repeats: five stars in 2020, one star in 2021, 2022 and 2025.

Support Quality

HostSoch advertises 24/7 support by chat, ticket, email and phone, promising replies “in less than 2 hours”. Pre-2019 reviews say that was accurate. Every review since December 2023 says it isn’t any more.

Here’s the concrete measure. Counting unique people rather than posts, exactly four customers have reviewed HostSoch anywhere since September 2022. All four are negative and all four concern unanswered tickets. Two posted the same complaint on two platforms each, which inflates the count without adding a voice.

There’s a structural reason to worry. HostSoch’s announcements feed has published nothing since 25 June 2022, and its public “Network Status” link returns “This page is restricted”. You can’t check server health before buying.

When to Use HostSoch

Ideal For

Cost-driven buyers who plan to stay for years: the flat renewal is the strongest thing about this host. Most budget competitors triple or quadruple your bill at renewal. HostSoch charges INR 99/mo in year four just as in year one.

Small, low-traffic sites: a brochure site, portfolio or small blog fits inside Starter’s 1 GB. If the site goes down for an afternoon and nobody notices, the missing uptime guarantee costs you nothing.

Buyers who want Indian server locations at the low end: the Mumbai option beats hosts that serve India from Singapore or the USA. See our India web hosting guide for how that compares across providers.

You’ll Appreciate It If

  • You’re willing to prepay twelve months, because monthly billing doubles the rate and shortens the refund window to 7 days
  • You want cPanel rather than a custom panel, because HostSoch runs standard cPanel on every shared plan
  • You’d rather have a predictable bill than the lowest possible first-year price

When NOT to Use HostSoch

Look Elsewhere If

Your site earns money: the Terms contain no uptime commitment and no service credit. The homepage advertises two different figures, 99.9% and 99%, and neither appears in the contract you sign. If downtime costs you revenue, you need a number in writing.

You need support that answers: every review since December 2023 describes tickets going unanswered. There are only four, because almost nobody reviews HostSoch any more. Not a large sample. A unanimous one.

You want a dedicated server: the entry configurations run 2012-era Xeon E3-1230 V2 processors on SATA disks, with cPanel and backups charged on top. Our dedicated server guide covers providers fitting current hardware at similar money.

You’re running a media-heavy or ecommerce site: the “Unlimited” plans aren’t. The Terms cap accounts at 250,000 inodes (one inode per file, email or image), with suspension as the penalty. They state you’re “allocated a monthly bandwidth allowance” despite the plan card promising unlimited transfer. They also prohibit storing music, video or photo archives, naming .jpg, .png, .mp3, .mp4 and .zip files specifically.

Red Flags for Your Situation

  • You rely on the host’s backups: the free shared backup excludes emails and media files, and can’t restore a single file or folder. Accounts over 20 GB or 100,000 inodes are dropped from off-site backup entirely.
  • You want a short trial: the 30-day money-back guarantee covers only 12, 24 and 36-month shared plans. Monthly plans and every VPS get 7 days, and refunds are limited to first-time accounts.
  • You need to know who you’re buying from: see the transparency section below.

HostSoch Plans and Pricing

We priced every plan in the cart. On shared hosting, the marketing pages and the cart agree. On VPS they don’t.

Renewal Warning (inverted): HostSoch is the rare budget host with no renewal shock. Renew on the same billing cycle and you pay the same rate, a 1.0x multiplier. The money is lost elsewhere. Monthly billing costs exactly 2x the annual rate on the entry plan, INR 198/mo against INR 99/mo. And paying monthly cuts your refund window from 30 days to 7.

Linux Shared Hosting (USA and Europe servers)

  • Starter: INR 198/mo monthly, INR 99/mo on 12, 24 or 36 months. 1 website, 1 GB space, 5 GB transfer, 10 email accounts. No free domain.
  • Advanced: INR 298/mo monthly, INR 199/mo on 12 months, INR 149/mo on 36. Unlimited space and transfer, free domain for a year.
  • Business: INR 458/mo monthly, INR 299/mo on 12 months, INR 229/mo on 36.
  • Pro: INR 658/mo monthly, INR 399/mo on 12 months, INR 329/mo on 36.

The three-year default buys nothing on the entry plan. Every “Get Started” button carries a “triennially” billing cycle in its link, so the cart opens on a 36-month term. On Starter, 12, 24 and 36 months all cost INR 99/mo. Three years costs INR 3,564 up front instead of INR 1,188 and saves nothing. On higher tiers it does save INR 50 to INR 70 a month.

India and Windows Shared Hosting

Indian servers are a separate line and cost more for identical specifications. HS-Starter is INR 258/mo monthly against INR 198 for the USA equivalent, on the same 1 GB. The ladder above it runs INR 179, INR 269, INR 359 and INR 488 per month on 36-month terms. Windows shared starts at INR 258/mo monthly and INR 129 on 36 months.

VPS Hosting

The VPS page’s own title advertises “Faster VPS Server in India at Rs.299/mo”. No VPS costs INR 299. The cheapest in the cart is INR 750/mo, two and a half times that.

Discounts are worse still. The page shows “25% OFF” on each Linux VPS, crossing out a higher annual rate. On three of four Linux plans, the cart charges the same for twelve months as for one.

  • Coral VPS: page shows INR 1,199 cut to INR 799. Cart charges INR 799 monthly and INR 750 annually. Neither advertised figure is a real annual rate.
  • Mighty, Mightier and Mightiest: INR 1,800, INR 2,800 and INR 3,500. Each costs the same for twelve months as for one, so annual prepayment saves zero.
  • Windows VPS is the honest half. UMW-VPS1 is INR 870 monthly and INR 740 annually, and the other three tiers discount annually too.

The banner above all this reads “Big 25% OFF for Lifetime – VPS Sale (Ends soon)”. A lifetime discount that ends soon contradicts itself. For alternatives, see our India VPS hosting comparison.

Dedicated Servers

Dedicated servers run from INR 4,599/mo to INR 19,999/mo. Two things stand out, and neither is good. First, the hardware. The two cheapest Linux servers and the cheapest Windows server all run an Intel Xeon E3-1230 V2, launched in 2012. The mid-range Windows boxes use E5-2630 v4 chips from 2016. Most pair these with 1 TB SATA spinning disks, not SSDs. Second, there is no term discount and no annual option: every server costs the same at one, three and six months.

Hidden Costs to Watch

  • Control panel on VPS and dedicated: not included. cPanel runs INR 1,300/mo for one account up to INR 4,200/mo for 100. Plesk is INR 2,250.
  • Backups on VPS and dedicated: not included. R1Soft costs INR 1,300/mo for 50 GB.
  • Dedicated IP: INR 300/mo on shared plans.
  • Domain renewal after the free first year: .in costs INR 599 and .com INR 899. Starter includes no free domain at all.
  • Domain privacy: INR 200/year since July 2022. It used to be free.
  • Tax: the cart carries an “Estimate Taxes” step, so these figures are pre-tax.

Pricing Verdict

Shared hosting is honestly priced and cheap, and the flat renewal is worth real money over three years. VPS and dedicated aren’t competitive. You pay 2026 prices for 2012 processors, then pay again for the control panel and the backups.

HostSoch Transparency Score

  • Company Information: Poor. HostSoch’s contact page names “Websoch IT Solutions LLP” in Malleshwaram, Bangalore. The registry record for its domain names a different company in a different state: eWebGuru, in Uttar Pradesh. Three further checks agree. Both brands share one Cloudflare nameserver pair. HostSoch’s cPanel host is the same machine as eWebGuru’s nameservers. eWebGuru’s homepage publishes HostSoch’s support number as its own. The HostSoch site never mentions eWebGuru.
  • Pricing Transparency: Good, with exceptions. Cart prices match the marketing pages, renewals really are flat, and there are no setup fees. Two exceptions. The VPS page advertises INR 299 against a real floor of INR 750. A homepage banner claims “Upto 60% OFF” when no plan is discounted by more than 50%.
  • Technical Documentation: Limited. Six data centers claimed, four named. Storage is “SSD” with no class given. Network Status is locked behind a login. The homepage promises “Free Daily Backups” while the Starter card on the same page says “Weekly & Monthly Backups Included”.
  • Terms & Policies: Limited. The refund terms are clear once you find them, including the 7-day versus 30-day split. But there’s no uptime clause anywhere, and the “Billing Policy” heading in the Terms has no text beneath it at all.

Overall Transparency: Poor. The pricing is more honest than most budget hosts. Everything else, from who owns the company to what happens when a server goes down, takes outside research to establish.

Alternatives to HostSoch

For More Storage at the Same Price: MilesWeb

Here the comparison is exact. What does INR 3,564 buy? It buys 36 months of either HostSoch’s Starter plan or MilesWeb’s Premium plan. HostSoch gives you 1 GB and one website. MilesWeb gives you 50 GB of NVMe storage, 25 websites, daily backups and a written 99.9% uptime guarantee. Both are Indian companies. MilesWeb quotes before 18% GST and its INR 99 rate is promotional, so check the renewal first.

For an Active Support Record: Hostinger

Hostinger’s Indian entry plan is INR 69/mo on a 48-month term and renews at INR 289/mo. That’s the opposite trade: cheaper at first, four times dearer later. What you buy is a live support operation with a current review stream.

For WordPress Specifically: a managed provider

HostSoch’s WordPress plans are its Linux plans at the same INR 99 price. There’s no staging, no managed updates and no WordPress tuning beyond LiteSpeed caching. If WordPress is the whole point, our India WordPress hosting comparison covers hosts that add real WordPress features.

Conclusion

HostSoch Review at HowToHosting.Guide

Copy this result

HostSoch scores 2.6 out of 5 from us. The flat renewal pricing is a real advantage most budget hosts can’t match, and the shared plans are cheap. Everything else argues against it.

The Bottom Line

With a 4.0 average across 92 independent reviews, HostSoch looks respectable on paper. Read the dates and it stops looking that way. Every five-star review predates February 2019. Only four people have reviewed it since September 2022, and all four say support stopped answering.

Add a contract with no uptime clause, a company identity that doesn’t match its own domain registration, and dedicated servers on fourteen-year-old processors. HostSoch is defensible for a hobby site where price is the only thing that matters. It’s hard to defend for anything a business depends on.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is HostSoch good for beginners?

Partly. You get standard cPanel, a one-click installer and a free site builder, which covers a first website. The gap is support. Beginners need help most, and every recent review says tickets go unanswered. Choose it only if you’re happy solving problems yourself.

Does HostSoch raise prices at renewal?

No, and this is its best feature. Renew on the same billing cycle and you pay the same rate, which we confirmed in the cart. Most budget hosts charge three to six times the promotional rate. Watch the billing cycle instead: monthly costs twice the annual rate on the entry plan.

What do customers complain about most?

Support, and nothing else comes close. Every negative review since December 2023 describes tickets unanswered past the promised two-hour turnaround. One customer reported a domain transfer taking over seven days. Another said a website-builder licence was allowed to lapse.

Who actually owns HostSoch?

eWebGuru, a hosting company in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The registry record for hostsoch.in names eWebGuru as the registrant organisation. Both brands share the same Cloudflare nameservers, and eWebGuru’s homepage lists HostSoch’s support number. HostSoch’s contact page still names Websoch IT Solutions LLP in Bangalore.

Does HostSoch offer refunds?

Yes, but the window depends on how you pay. Shared hosting on a 12, 24 or 36-month cycle gets 30 days. Monthly shared plans and all VPS plans get 7 days. Refunds exclude domain costs, dedicated IPs and software licences, and the Terms limit them to first-time accounts.

Is HostSoch’s 99.9% uptime guarantee real?

There’s no guarantee to enforce. The homepage advertises 99.9% in one place and 99% in another, a tenfold difference in allowed downtime. The Terms mention neither figure, and carry no uptime clause and no service credit.
