No independent benchmark data exists for HostYD. No third-party speed or uptime monitoring service we could find ever tracked it. The provider advertised 99.9% uptime on its plan pages. Against that, its own published stack raised alarms: the FAQ stated that shared plans support PHP versions 5.6, 7.1, and 7.2. PHP (the language that runs WordPress and most websites) version 7.2 lost security support in November 2020. The UK line cost a cent more per tier but cut Starter to 10 GB storage, 1 website, and a 6-month minimum. Same name, much thinner plan. That’s a detail buyers often missed.

VPS Hosting

Starting at: USD 12.99/mo (HYD1GB: 1 core, 1 GB RAM, 30 GB SSD) | Renews at: the same rate

All six plans used OpenVZ virtualization, which most competitors have replaced with the more isolated KVM (a hypervisor that gives each server its own kernel). Pricing scaled to USD 64.99/mo for 3 cores and 6 GB RAM. These were unmanaged servers. HostYD’s “fully managed” option required you to buy a cPanel or Plesk license separately from the vendor. Weekly backups were included. For context, USD 12.99/mo for a 1 GB OpenVZ container is two to three times the going market rate in 2026.

Managed Cloud

Starting at: USD 7.99/mo for 512 MB RAM, 1 vCPU (virtual processor core), and 20 GB SSD, up to USD 49.99/mo for 8 GB RAM. As covered above, this line resold Amazon Lightsail. Amazon sells that same 512 MB instance directly for USD 5.00/mo. The app catalog on HostYD’s page still described WordPress 5.3.0 and Node.js 12, versions from 2019.
