Features and Services

HostingRaja is a large catalogue host. Its terms name Ovi Hosting Pvt Ltd as the company you contract with. Since 2023 it has belonged to the hosting.com group, formerly World Host Group. The hosting.com acquisitions page says the team then absorbed other Indian hosts, including the customer base of ZNetLive. HostingRaja’s homepage still calls it “a 100% Indian web hosting company”. That line is out of date, and it matters to anyone choosing a host for local ownership.

Features Worth Knowing Before You Pay

NVMe storage: every shared plan lists NVMe disks (a faster type of SSD storage). That helps database-heavy sites like WordPress, where many small reads add up.

Regional-language help: HostingRaja advertises support in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. Few hosts serving Indian buyers offer that, and first-time site owners notice it.

Small WordPress plans: the entry WordPress plan gives 5 GB of storage, 25 GB of bandwidth and one website, in India only. That’s tight for a growing blog with images.

Backups: the INR 99 shared plan card lists “Free Backup”. Section 9 of the terms says shared-server backups are “in NO WAY GUARANTEED”, so keep your own copy.

Where the Servers Are

HostingRaja doesn’t name a data center on its site. The hosting.com acquisitions page says the group consolidated Indian servers into “our Indian hub in Equinix Mumbai”. Both HostingRaja machines we measured geolocate to the Navi Mumbai area. Mumbai suits an Indian audience well. It’s the country’s main landing point for undersea internet cables, so most Indian networks connect there.

The homepage FAQ says every customer site sits in an Indian data center. The VPS checkout says otherwise. The managed cPanel VPS sold on the “Linux VPS” page preselects Dallas, Texas as the server location. Mumbai is the last of eight options, after London, Singapore, Frankfurt, Sydney, Toronto and Mexico. The “Germany”, “USA”, “UK”, “Singapore”, “Australia” and “Canada” VPS pages sell the same four products.

A VPS left on the default would serve Indian visitors from Texas. Change the location to Mumbai before you add it to the basket.

Performance Expectations

On 6 October 2026 we measured TCP connection time (how long a connection takes to open) to two HostingRaja servers. We used 13 home and mobile connections in 8 countries through Globalping, a free network of volunteer probes. The first target sits on HostingRaja’s own network (AS135822, registered to Ovi Hosting). The second is a HostingRaja-named server on a different Mumbai network. Ping lost too many packets, so we measured TCP connections on port 443 instead.

Near Mumbai, both servers answer fast: 4.7 ms from Pune and 11 ms from Thane. The surprise is Airtel. From Delhi and Jaipur, Airtel connections took over 150 ms to reach HostingRaja’s own network. That’s slower than London. Why would Delhi lose to London? Route traces showed the traffic leaving India for an exchange in Amsterdam, then coming back. Traffic from Singapore and Abu Dhabi passed through the same Dutch network, Serverius, on its way in. The second server, on another network, answered Delhi in 33 ms.

We can’t tell which network your site would land on. We also didn’t measure page load speed, server load or a real customer site. Treat this as a check on network reach. If many of your visitors use Airtel, ask HostingRaja which network your server uses before you buy. We found no independent benchmark of HostingRaja’s current servers. Its marketing promises “99.9% Uptime Guarantee” on plan cards, but its contract says something weaker (see the Transparency Score).

Customer Experience

On Trustpilot, HostingRaja scores 4.7 from 1,134 reviews, with 424 posted in the last 12 months. Of those 1,134, 899 are five-star and 128 are one-star. A simple average comes to 4.43. Trustpilot’s TrustScore gives recent reviews more weight, and almost all recent reviews were invited.

Trustpilot labels each review by how it arrived. Of the newest 200 (16 July to 6 October 2026), 197 came through HostingRaja’s invitation links and averaged 4.8 stars. Only 3 came from people who found the page themselves. The 1-star record is the reverse: 122 of all 128 one-star reviews are unprompted. Both groups are real customers. Invited reviews tend to follow a solved ticket, while unprompted ones follow a problem.

We read the newest 100 five-star reviews, posted between 26 August and 6 October 2026. Forty-six mention support or help, and 35 praise how fast a reply came, often on live chat. One mentions a quick answer during a weekend. None of the 100 mentions price, migration or site speed, and most run to a sentence or two. HostingRaja also replied to every negative review in Trustpilot’s recent window, usually within a day.

Where Unprompted Reviewers Get Stuck

We read the 33 unprompted one-star reviews posted since January 2025. Twenty-six mention support or tickets. Nine describe sites going down or not working. Renewal bills come up too: an October 2025 reviewer said the renewal amount doubled, with no invoice sent in advance. Others describe no help after hours. A March 2026 reviewer with a server problem was told to wait until 10 am.

Acquisitions show up too. A September 2025 reviewer said service declined after Hostcats was taken over. A June 2024 reviewer described the same after OnoHosting moved across. Long-term customers are not immune: in July 2026, a customer with more than 25 servers since 2014 left after five years.

What Reddit Says

Almost nothing, as of 6 October 2026. Searching Reddit for “hostingraja” and “hosting raja” returned no first-hand discussion of the service. The closest was a May 2025 post asking for Indian-owned domain registrars. It noted that HostingRaja “has been recently acquired by World Host Group (UK)”. For a host claiming over 150,000 customers, that silence means community evidence can’t balance the invited reviews.

Support in Practice

HostingRaja lists 24/7 support by phone, live chat, email and tickets. Its contact page asks customers to “raise a ticket before calling”, and gives one technical number (080 6225 6100) and one sales line. The night-time complaints above suggest phone and senior help thin out after office hours. Reaching someone is easy; getting a fix out of hours is where reviews diverge.

When to Use HostingRaja

HostingRaja works best when the buyer controls the renewal risk. Three kinds of customer get good value here.

• A small business site paying three years upfront: Silver at INR 104.76 a month buys 100 GB of NVMe storage and three websites. The 1.85x renewal is manageable if you plan for it.
• Owners who want help in an Indian language: support in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam is rare. It lowers the barrier for a first website.
• Developers who want a cheap unmanaged VPS: unmanaged Linux VPS plans renew only 1.18x higher on three-year terms. Check the server location in the configurator before you pay.

It also fits these needs:

• Visitors mostly near Mumbai, Pune or Bengaluru, where we measured 4.7 to 22 ms.
• Rupee billing with GST invoices.
• One account for domains, email, Google Workspace and hosting.

When NOT to Use HostingRaja

Some buyers will pay more than they expect, or wait longer than they can afford. Skip HostingRaja in these cases.

• You want Premium hosting long term: the 3.33x renewal means INR 35,904.13 for the second three years of Premium Business Standard.
• You need an uptime promise with teeth: the contract pays nothing until availability falls below 99%, roughly seven hours offline in a 30-day month.
• Your site can’t wait until morning: several unprompted reviews describe no technical help at night.
• You pay monthly and want a refund option: the terms say “No Refund is applicable on the monthly plans purchased”. VPS, dedicated and cloud refunds close after 7 days.
• Your audience reaches the web through Airtel: our measurement routed Airtel users to HostingRaja’s own network through Amsterdam, at over 150 ms from Delhi.
• Local ownership matters to you: HostingRaja is part of the hosting.com group, whatever its homepage says.

For flat renewals, MilesWeb is the closest swap. For monthly billing on cloud servers in India, look at Cloudways.

HostingRaja Transparency Score

Here’s how clearly HostingRaja tells you what you’re buying.

Company information: Poor. The terms name Ovi Hosting Pvt Ltd and a Bengaluru address. The owner appears only in the privacy policy, which says Ovi Hosting “belongs to World Host Group”. The homepage tells buyers the opposite: “a 100% Indian web hosting company”.

Pricing transparency: Good. Renewal prices are visible as the crossed-out “Was” price, and the basket spells them out. The card never labels that figure as the renewal, and GST appears only at checkout.

Technical documentation: Limited. HostingRaja’s own pages never name a facility, and we found no public status page. Uptime figures conflict: plan cards say 99.9%, several pages say 99.99%, and the contract says 99%.

Terms and policies: Good. The refund windows, monthly-plan exclusion, auto-renewal deadline and SLA (service level agreement, the uptime a host formally promises) are all written down. The catch is in what they say. The SLA “aims to achieve 99%” and its credit table pays 0% between 99% and 100%.

Start with the outlined row: no credit at all between 99% and 100% availability. HostingRaja terms of service, section 8, captured 6 October 2026.

Below 99%, credits run from 5% to “25% or equivalent to 1/2 month refund”, and they count only toward future bills. On the Silver plan, a 5% credit is about INR 5 for a month that lost more than seven hours.

Overall Transparency: Limited. The contract is readable, and the cart shows renewals honestly. The marketing doesn’t match either one: wrong ownership, three uptime numbers, and an “Indian data center” promise the VPS checkout breaks by default.

HostingRaja earns our Average Score of 4.0, based on 597 reviews examined. It deserves that for small Indian sites on a three-year Silver prepay. Mumbai-area servers answered in 4.7 to 11 ms nearby, and the 1.85x renewal is manageable. It doesn’t deserve it for Premium buyers facing a 3.33x renewal, or for anyone who needs night-time fixes or a real uptime contract.

The Trustpilot 4.7 needs context. Almost every recent review was invited, while 122 of 128 one-star reviews were unprompted. Former ZNetLive customers should treat their first HostingRaja renewal as a new purchase and get the quote in writing.

Buy Silver for three years, change any VPS location to Mumbai, and diarise the cancellation deadline 16 business days before renewal. If you’d rather never think about renewal, choose MilesWeb.
